Vegan for a Week

In honor of my friend Jenn who is a passionate thinker for all creatures, and has spent 30 years cultivating her ideals I'm trying out the vegan path for a week. curious though, where does calcium come from if not in dairy?

Calcium is easy on a vegan diet. See http://www.vrg.org/nutrition/calcium.htm. My mom has been vegan for 6 years, is mid-50s, and just had her bone density tested with great results.

just wanted to say. your writings inspired me to stop drinking milk again. i always feel vaguely nasty after drinking milk. remembered how much i LOVE rice/almond milk. yumyum. so yeah. wish i could try vegan... but, like you mention, i think my love of cheese and butter in recipes is a bit too strong.
