Hello all you LJ peeps. I know I haven't written much lately (if anyone actually reads what I write), but I feel that now is definitely a time when I need some good old-fashioned advice from straight shooting people
( Read more... )
He did what now? Call me crazy, but this whole thing makes my Double-Reverse Morgrim Paranoia™ kick in.
1) No your fears are not unfounded. This is easy to say from 135 miles away, but maybe you should ask Dude to move out. In writing. Seriously.
2) Not that I think he did, given the rest of the story, but has Dude paid for any part of the renovation? Helped out at all? Just checkin', ya dig?
3) Um... how much of Dude's stuff did he take with him to "Savannah"? Ya feel me?
Maybe I'm biased because if you came to Atlanta I might get to see you every now and again, but regardless of where you go, I'd tell you to steer clear of this one. Dude just sounds like eight miles of bad road to me.
2. No but he did donate alot of leftover paint and supplies from the sale of his house, so he didn't need the stuff.
3. I dunno what you mean. He just packed a suitcase and left to get away from his wife. He's back now. I just think it sucks that he stays in a swanky room for hundreds of dollars a night, but won't chip in on the utilities considering they use alot of power and water. I'd love to move up there especially if I get a chance to make substantial enough money that I don't have to drive like a dog to pay my bills, and can have some time to finish my education.
Don't go. It's one thing to be stuck in GA around people you know to fall back on if things go south really badly, but if you go out to Nevada and suddenly end up without any money or a place to stay, you'd be pretty much on your own in an unfamiliar place (unless you know someone else out there?).
I'd let you move in with me, but they're not generally okay with boys living at Agnes Scott. :-P
Hey buddy...I'm sorry about all of this crap you're getting put through. One truism of life I've found (through hard lessons) is that some people are good, some people you can redeem, and some people are just assholes. And that's just the way it is. You're one of the good people, and you should get away from a situation if it's bad, and come hang out with other good people :).
Like I said last night, I'll try to call you later in the week, and see how things are going on for you. Take care of yourself, man.
Thanks...morgnthehatedFebruary 29 2008, 06:56:15 UTC
Well, well, well, I have been doing some thinking, and what I came up with after my brain quit hurting, is that I should move up to the Atlanta area instead of Reno. This requires several things from you Atlanta area peeps...
1. What are some good areas to move to with jobs and affordable housing etc.
2. Does anyone know of any job openings that yours truly might be qualified for?
If all of you could keep your eyes peeled for some job opportunities for yours truly, I would greatly appreciate it.
1 - I'd start in the marietta area, particularly Vinings, unless you interview ahead of time and know where you'll be working. You may want to come in with the idea of an extended-stay hotel until you know where you're going to be. Atlanta's big, and commute times from one side of Atlanta to another can be horrible. I do that every day and you don't want that.
2 - What do you do? What are you qualified for? Hit atlanta.craislist.org and use their classifieds, and ajcjobs.com as well. Work your contacts (us SOLAR folks) and see if any of us know of open jobs. I don't at the moment.
