I nominate Poltergeist for Dumbest Mainstream Horror Movie Evar. Full details tomorrow.

We've had this little problem for the last few months whereupon Rocket, known as the Poo Master, poos next to the kitty box rather than in it, apparently regardless of the cleanliness of the box. As it's always nice tidy dry turds, they get disposed of and ( Read more... )

There are far better nominations mebil September 26 2008, 04:08:33 UTC
Jaws 4
Poltergeist II
Event Horizon
The one your mommy sent us staring Sulu and the other Star Trek dude.
Pink Flamingos
Piranha II
Hills Have Eyes (All versions)
Amityville Horror (You didn't make it to the 4th installment.)
Psycho (The Remake)
Silent Night, Deadly Night
Dark Water
Frankenhooker
Manos: The Hand of Fate
MST3K: The Incredibly Strange Creatures that gave up living...
CreepShow

Crap..What else did we have in our queue from Netflix? About two years ago you decided it would be fun to torture me with some of these.

Trayf is in the washing machine along with another victimized animal.

I think Rocket is testing how smart we are. Maybe they see Trayf on the pile of poo, they will blame Trayf.

Sequels and remakes don't count. Anything by John Waters isn't exactly mainstream. Most of the rest you quoted aren't treated as such groundbreaking, seminal horror movies as Poltergeist is. This is one of the basic, "classic" horror movies but it sucked.

That's odd, where did professormortis' reply go?

I took it down because I felt like we must be coming from very different places. While I agree that Event Horizon sucked on toast, and Silent Night, Deadly Night is retarded, I thought Frakenhooker was a successful comedy-remake of The Brain that Wouldn't Die and I love Creepshow, which is going for the feel of the old EC comics and does so in a much higher quality way that Tales from the Crypt did.

Event Horizon is the only movie I ever walked out of, though I should have walked out of Pulp Fiction as well.

Haven't seen (or read) Creepshow since early childhood so I can't say who I agree with on that one.

Amazingly, I have never seen poltergeist. cottonmanifesto demands that I see it, if for nothing else, so that I will know what she means when she describes the sky as "looking like poltergeist."

Heh. You may not want to read my why-I-hated-this-movie breakdown just yet, then. :)

Yeah, I'll have to save it for post-viewing enjoyment.
