Yeah, it's pretty cool--wool and other animal fibers will dye with Kool-Aide or regular food colouring. Since it's food-safe, you don't need to buy special containers to do it in!
The nice thing about the glazed crock is that it doesn't take dye, though I did get a couple of blobs of pink that stuck to the bathroom sink when I rinsed things out.

I was wondering when you said you did it in your crockpot, though I guess you could of had an old/spare hanging around.
Does that mean when you do your next roast it could come out in the same colours?
