Alex and Izzie were so adorable last night. I'm just loving them more and more. Especially how protective Alex was of Iz. You can tell just how much he loves her.
I'm oh so proud of Derek. He did a great job taking care of the hospital staff. I am so disgusted with Richard that I don't even know what to do. That he'd let HR just fire those people through a mass email without even taking the time to speak to his staff face-to-face just makes him look like a coward and an awful human being. I'm hoping he gets fired soon and we never see him again.
As for how Meredith saves Thatcher next week, I'm assuming she donates part of her liver since he's been drinking so much. Not that he deserves it at all. Ugh. I really hate Thatcher.
And it was nice to have the episode end on a happy note with the baseball. That was such a cute scene.
I don't hate Lexie and I actually like her alot and find CL adorable but people mostly don't like the idea of Lexie as the Grey lead and I'm one of them.
I agree no way they can have Mer as the focus in the first few eppies this season which is cool since Ellen was huge and she can't really be running around. Derek and the chief SL is pretty interesting and Look forward for more of it.
This episode was SO much fun. You know I don't share your dislike of Lexie, so it won't surprise you when I say that I absolutely loved her scenes. And Mark of course. I still hate, hate, hate Webber. I can't call him chief, because he is so not acting like one, with all the talk about his "people". And then he didn'T even tell them in person but has HR sent an email? And didn't say goodbye or thanks to anyone? Ugh! Hate, hate, hate him Derek on the other hand: so much more "chief material" than Webber ever has been. He cares about his coworkers and he is just... McDreamy.
The MerDer moment in the stairwell was adorable and so was Meredith throughout the whole episode. Pregnancy suits her, hehehe.
Yeah, it really was a cute episode. The baseball playing was adorable.
And you are absolutely right about Richard. He doesn't even deserve the title of Chief. It was Derek out there doing what Richard should have been doing for his people. And yeah, the fact that he let HR do it through some sort of mass email is despicable. The least he could do is step out of his office a moment and talk to the people whose lives he's changing. He's such a coward.
On a happier note, Meredith was absolutely gorgeous and glowing. And I'm impressed with how well they've been hiding the pregnancy.
But this new, “married” (staying in quotes until they freaking sign something, I swear) and grown-up MerDer is so lovely and cuddly like a sweater. A really, really pretty sweater. That should go off and make really, really pretty sweater babies already.
Hee. I agree about the really pretty sweater babies. We need some of those ASAP. :) The post-it still pisses me off too. Shonda and her cop-outs... *sigh*
The scene where Derek hugged Olivia made me a little teary eyed. Olivia is so cute, especially with her pretty new bangs and short hair. I'm going to miss her. :'(
This episode was really very adorable, with Mer being all calm and Derek feeling her forehead. They're so grown up and adorable now. :')
Alex and Iz and playing baseball and Cris on peds were also very sweet and really make me want stuff like that to happen more often. :D
Now if only the Mark/Lexie ickyness would fall off that cliff with Thatcher and the Chief. That would be nice.
Yeah, I desperately want a MerDer baby already. Maybe when Ellen gets back from her maternity leave. Mer and Der would be such adorable parents.
I looooooved the Nurse Olivia/Derek hug. She looked so cute and sad and heartbroken and I felt so bad for her.
MerDer and Izzie and Alex are being so consistently lovely that I almost don't know what to do. And we even had funny Cris too. We need more happy episodes like this. I can do without all the angst.
And yeah, Mark/Lexie, Thatcher and Richard should all be consumed by the cliff.
Completely agree, although I like Lexie. I can't belive they got rid of Oliver, I hope tyler and/or debbie dont go as well. I loved the stairwell mer/der interaction, he checked her temp to make sure she wasn't insane made me lol. Also Christina hugged Mer in the baseball scene!
She should actually stay on peds forever, simply for our entertainment!
My hate for the chief just seems to intensify. Thatcher I want to beat him with a baseball bat, then he won't need Meredith's liver now will he? He just needs to go far far away!

Yeah, I have so much hate for the Chief and Thatcher that it makes it hard to think about them at all. I really hope they're setting Richard up to be fired or something like that because his behavior is truly awful.
The MerDer we got was lovely, but it really was so little. I hope we get MerDer in full force when EP gets back from her maternity leave.
