You know however much I may love other TV series I doubt anything is ever going to top the West Wing as the series most likely to make me cry. The series most likely to tear my heart into teeny tiny pieces

Oh Fitz ♥ And Nancy McNally and ALL OF THEM but quite a lot Kenny right now 'cause he's right there in the middle and so very rarely gets to say anything for himself.
Well exactly, was he just a translator who fell into a fabulous job and how much has he picked up or is he really an astute poller/political mind in his own right.
I'm trying to think of things he's actually said in his own right other than hello/goodbye/thank you and askin what polyglot is *g*
*loves West Wing with you* - saving the rewatch for Portugal when I will have more time and also Colin loves it just as much so we can watch it together.
I'm with you on this whole post. I don't think I'll ever love another TV show in quite the same way. Although I have shockingly forgotten what happens at the end of season 3. Is it re-election and 'smart people who love you are gonna have your back'?
I have to say the one site that I do read fanfic from is http://fwf.healthyinterest.net/ mainly because it's utterly hysterical. Even if they don't like Ainsley and I have to skip over some fics because of that.
Fanfic with Footnotes rocks...have you read any of Marguerite's fic (http://4dw.net/marguerite/wwpostep.html - site appears to be down at the mo but is on the wayback machine)? Wonderful too.
End of season 3 is "Posse Comitatus", the start of the Qumar storyline and the end of Simon Donovan and oh it does break my heart too :(
There are a handful of fics I have read and loved for the West Wing but my expectations are so much higher I fear, almost nobody gets the main characters voices right (which is unsurprising considering even the writers couldn't after Aaron Sorkin left *coughs*)
I completely know what you mean about the start of season two and Toby and Josh and needing the tissues. I think it's the way Toby's steps falter that always gets me and the other bit that always breaks me into little pieces is Leo's run from the Oval and Jed's face when he looks to Abbey just after Zoe's been taken.
That is a fabulous run of episodes. I find it almost impossible to pick even a favourite sereies though because there are so many fabulous moments tucked all over the place.

And (looking at your icon) Donna's complete inability to understand when Toby says Josh was hit.
