Those are my two favourites as well. I think I'm leaning slightly more towards the ship in the bottle, but the Meerkats are so cute :)

They just make me smile to even think of them, in amongst all those tourists! But the ship in a bottle is more context related and such.

Whilst I adore meerkats, I can't honestly see their relevance to Trafalgar Square. The ship in the bottle is intriguing and beautiful and clever. I feel quite a sense of ownership because my birthday is on Trafalgar Day and anything to do with Nelson etc. really resonates with me!

The ship in a bottle seems, as you say, more relevant and probably therefore wins out (that or the mirrors) but the Meerkats just make me smile so perhaps they could have a slot later on.

I think they deserve a slot - just not in Trafalgar Square. I also like the mirrors - I like almost all his work - but I'm not sure, again, how well they'd sit in that location. They need somewhere larger, perhaps greener, with fewer specific historical connections.

I'm confused. What happened to the statue of the disabled lady?

She was only actually there for a few months. They decided the fourth plinth would effectively be used as an exhibition space that changed fairly regularly. It was easily the best statue so far in my opinion, I thinkit's on display elswhere now.
