So I just posted a lot of my photographs from the Tour de France last weekend on facebook so if you're friends with me there then go look but here's a (slightly) smaller subset along with some thoughts for everyone else *g*
I did see your pictures but I had't seen the blog so thank you for the link. It looks like you had a lovely time and it was a great spot to watch.
I've never seen the caravan proper before, most of it didn't come the last time the TdF was in the UK, it goes scarily fast doesn't it! And it seems to be somewhat luck whether they're chucking stuff or just waving at any moment :-/ I think you have to be there to enjoy the atmosphere because almost everything else will be a slight disappointment.
The actual race itself was very un-disappointing! The peloton was beautifully strung out, so it took quite a time to get past (and the two cyclists in the breakaway, 2 minutes ahead of everybody else). But next time it comes to London, I don't think I'll bother to go for the caravane.....
Great photos! The Miffys were great, but nothing beats giant Fruit Shoots heading down a Derbyshire hill. :D And I am still super jealous that you got to do day 3, too. I was knackered on Monday and had an observation in the afternoon. Awesome timing, me!

Don't you think My Friend Jilly and her team did a fantastic job bringing the Tour to Yorkshire and then to London.
