So, the scene near the end with Smaug covered in molten gold really REALLY upset me so much I almost cried ... :-/

I liked this way better than the first, but I still find Martin Freeman's Bilbo super duper annoying, though.

BUT, omg. BARD. Luke Evans is super hot, how is he only a year younger than me?

Why really upset you? Because it was hurting Smaug or because it was doomed to failure. I thought it was rather spectacular!

But yes, he's not Bilbo.

Hurting Smaug. I didn't mind them attacking him, but the molten gold bit really upset me because all I could think about was on Mythbusters when Jamie's head was covered in gold, he had a meltdown (and Jamie almost never has those) because he couldn't breathe and even though Smaug's not a real character, I just thought about how he was suffocating and couldn't breathe and ............ sigh

I've never read the book, but man. SO annoying D: Which is kind of disappointing, tbh.

Oh dear, if I'd known you didn't like those two actors so much I wouldn't have babbled on and on so much about them last I saw you!

I got serious Viserys Targaryen GoT flashbacks with the gold dragon bit. And Lee Pace was easily the best thing in it for me *g*

*g* I'd have told you if I minded! I realise mine is a minority opinion and it's nice to hear how other people see them! But I'm afraid I remain unconvinced.

Oh! I didn't think of Viserys at all but I will next time I watch it now. Lee Pace was magnificent <3

No, variety of opinions is good, otherwise it would be horrifically boring!

I actually feel somewhat guilty about the sudden resurgence of my interest, but in my defence I've been a lifelong fan of the ACD stories and was one of the first few people I knew to even watch the show in the early days. I remember there was a period of several months during which I was trying to convince all and sundry to give it a try, and suddenly it and the resulting fandom exploded and turned mainstream. It was most annoying.
