Ooh, I've seen two of the three best plays! Go me! Although I entirely failed to notice The Effect even happened for some reason. Go Almeida, frankly. I thoroughly enjoyed both of their ones. I think Chimerica should win all the things, though. So good.
I actually thought Olivia Vinall was very good, so maybe she was having an off-day when you saw it?
I wondered myself about the discrepancy between numbers in the male/female categories, but presumably the Evening Standard is one of those awards which genuinely try to reward excellence and if there's not enough meeting the standard, then the category is small? IDK.
(I would also pick Rory. Adrian was wonderful, but it's Rory I remember. :))
I hope that was it! She just didn't seem to have any chemistry with Adrian Lester at all which bemused me because even the SET had chemistry with him :-P but then I'm not a big Desdemona fan- she needs to grow a spine :-P

I did know about The Effect but then I still haven't got over my ridiculous aversion to Billie Piper so I didn't pay it much attention I'm afraid.
Chimerica should have had MORE nominations if anything.
