I have to say I am next generation up from you and I could not function without the internet. Not just for social networking but for running my U3A as all the committee communicate by email and everything is arranged that way. Not to mention train times, maps, shooing etc

I feel guilty for how dependent I am on Internet access, but reading this makes me feel so much better :-) It's the source of so many things (friends, gossip, TV, news, shopping etc.) so it's logical that losing it for more than a couple of hours will bother us a little!

I was at a posh dinner last night with my Dad and sat there wishing for the day when all the 'grown ups' were like me and I could legitimately check twitter/LJ on my phone without feeling uncomfortable about doing so! Having said that, I guess I'd rather it wasn't the only/main way to define our generation, but like you said, don't think there's much choice about that!
