My thoughts on the episode...I felt pretty good about it, though really, not much has changed.

I liked it okay, too. I was curious what they would be doing with Bobby... but for the here and now, my questions were answered. He's still there. Did you notice the "sparkly ghost sound effect" when Dean's beer was suddenly empty in the first part? The reaper had given him a choice in the last episode to either go with him, or become a "vengeful spirit" ... so to ME... that beer vanishing, and the some-what cheesy sound effect tells me that he didn't go NOWHERE. XD ( ... )

Hi! Good to hear from you!

I did notice the beer bottle, and wondered what it meant. Everyone's been talking about it, but I have no idea - maybe it was Bobby? It's too soon to tell, I think.

Oh, I was definitely tearing up at that last scene of Dean in the car. His smile was so false - he was trying, really, to just grin and bear it, but, you could see the true sadness in his eyes. God, it hurt. But I think Dean's going to have to eventually give it up, deal with some of what he's feeling. So ahhh...we will see!

What Frank told Dean to do is what Dean has don't for years and it doesn't work. Doesn't seem to be working for Frank either. But then Frank is an excellent example of someone who has nothing left. I was thinking ode Krissy too. If her dad had died, she would have had no one. She's so jaded into the life already that she seemed ready to accept that. Sad.

And yes, Frank knows too much just like Ash. Gamble will think its fun to have the leviathans burn down his trailer with him in it. :(

Right...and I'm fine with there being characters who have nothing left, IF that leads up to something. If it means something. If we're just torturing characters for the fun of it, that's not fun for me. :/

Poor Frank. I am finding myself liking him!

I can't remember who wrote it, sigh, I've read more than a few reviews of 7.11, but there was someone on lj who brought up the same point you and I have discussed, that overwhelming feeling of there just being nothing LEFT to fight for or to feel beyond this horrible weariness and crushing heaviness of spirit; without some break in the seemingly interminable darkness that is the show right now, it has become increasingly difficult to stick with it, even for the boys. It's ONLY for them, because of them, that I hang in there right now, when an increasingly louder part of my brain keeps telling me to back off and not watch till I hear that the tide has turned a bit. Maybe, as someone else on lj told me, I need to back off and take a break, since so much of my rl woes have drained me to the point that a fictional tv show is causing me such added grief every week. But I guess I'm so invested/addicted/whatever to the boys and their pathetic, angsty lives that it's almost impossible for me to NOT tune in for every new episode. And as you've ( ... )

I think there has to be something hinky going on right now, considering the weirdness with Dean's beer bottle and that sound effect, plus the confusion over the time line; we get the white letters on screen informing us it's week one, week two, etc. and Dean snarling in frustration over Frank not getting back to him for four weeks about those numbers; but when he finally meets up with him, Frank seems pretty sure it was only 4 DAYS ago that Dean contacted him. Sure,he's all kinds of nuts and maybe for him 4 days can morph into 4 weeks with him not even being aware of that much time passing. But maybe from Frank's perspective it truly has been only 4 days, while from Dean's it truly has been 4 weeks...what the hell? And for Dean to have slept in that chair, unmoving, not needing to pee or shift positions or get up and go lie down, for 36 hours just seems a bit excessive. Sure, time needed to pass from a dramatic standpoint so when he woke up he'd realize how long Sam has been missing and without help; but really, 36 hours? Heck, wouldn't ( ... )

Yeah, the leviathans are an issue. At this point, they do seem, like Lucifer, to be too powerful. However...I just don't get the same sense of urgency from them. They're sort of in the background and apart from the fact that they can't be killed, they...don't really seem all that interesting. I don't know. I feel like it's more of a Mother of All-type deal...where they SAY this is a huge threat, but it ends up not being so. I don't know. I don't know how they're going to end up resolving this new threat...but yeah, I'm getting a bit tired of the SL ( ... )

I tend to agree with you, as I said after your review of 710. If it's all build up, then I think it has the potential to be great. This show needs a arc and plot turning point that stretches the whole season, since it hasn't had a proper one since S5.

Also, I need Dean to break down. He's become so inhuman(which is so amazing because he also considers himself inhuman) in his grief and repression, that he's not recognizable as Dean anymore; just a walking ball of angst and pain. The show's been building up to a breakdown on his part, and, I for one, can't wait 'till that happens, because that will be the turning point for their problems, I'm sure of it. It only makes sense that for Dean, letting go and breaking down is the one way to finish the game and achieve his goal.

This, basically. I've often felt that this is true.

I try to have faith that Dean WILL see that turning point soon!
