Awww.... I'm such a sucker for H/C and "Shootout" is still my fave episode, along with ACFS. Therefore I enjoyed this very much. Typical of Hutch to try and blame it on himself, pondering "how far back" this went. In the "Professionals", Bodie says about Doyle: "Give Ray half a chance, he'd blame himself for the invention of gunpowder." I've often thought how true this also rings for Hutch. And they say Starsky is the one who's playing the "What if"-game? Think again.
Anyway, well done. Keep writing, I can't get enough of your stories and snippets!

thanks so much, Marion. Shootout is one of my faves as well, along with Snowstorm.

It was "Shootout" that got me really hooked on the show and where I fell for the boys. So it will always have a special place in my heart. :)

Great stuff. Always fun, the peek inside Hutch's angsty head. Loved the rain analogy and tasty little details. Thanks for doing and sharing!

A lovely interpretation of Hutchinson angst in one of my favourite eps. This and Bloodbath show DS at his finest in his portrayal of Hutch, and you really captured that sense of 'what if', for past, present and future, that must have gone through his head. Great writing. And, out of many, I love the description of the gun 'barking like a toy poodle' - very apt and molo-like way to write it:))
