I love how in character they remain in this, yet still so very involved and in love. He's worried, but won't show it. She wants to be with him, but is strong enough to limit the time.
Love the way you write them, as usual!

I'm glad you like it so far, I wanted to write something about their relationship and how backwards it sort of is, without there being lots of other things to overshadow that. Of course the other stuff is still there and it does intrude - but the focus is definitely on their trying to figure this out.

This line makes me ridiculously happy, for some reason.
And obviously I love this. This is turning out to be the best day ever ;)

There's not much of a plot with this - mostly just them and possibly some back-story.

Second: Sequel! Dancey, dance.
Third: This was amusing. And good.
He refrains from mentioning torturing their enemies, looking solidly back at her until she says. “OK, let’s try this again."
Oh how I could picture this scene. Dominic just staring while thinking about his and his lady love's sadism. :D
I had forgotten you made Dom's real last name be Wentworth. It makes your Persuasion-esque fic, a hundred times more hilarious in retrospect.
I'm also not a huge fan of OC's but I kind of love Lauren. And am looking forward to meeting the brother.

Hmm - for the purposes of this we might need to forget about the use of Persuasion for In Exile. I like Lauren too - I think Topher gave me her character when he said that she was Dom with a better sense of humour. As for his brother - we'll see where that goes!

See--fluff can be done and done well. I like Dominic with Cole and that Adelle has simply decided not to be bothered by it. I like the idea that they've never been on a date (shame on you--they could at least have gone out to eat). And I especially like that "perhaps something else" was never defined. Go Dominic!
This made them seem kind of normal in a kind of twisted, we just averted the end of the world way.
This was great fun!

Glad you enjoyed it and thought it was fun - Cole sort of grew on me, because she knows enough to be able to tease him and she knows which lines not to cross.
And yes - the whole fic came out of my realisation that they've never been on anything even remotely resembling a date.

I think the male-male dynamic would be so much less interesting. Unless, of course, we're talking family. I'm a little nervous about the brother thing.

He said he was calling his brother - maybe he wants him to recommend a bar... Only worry a little.

The situation is interesting, how could our Mr. Dominic not take Adelle on a date? For that he's gotta pay! :D
Love the Tuscon line! I laughed so hard when it was delivered on the show. That poor city, but I guess I too would loathe my boss's headquarters.
Can't wait to read more!
