given that a) I already liked what you showed me before it was finished and b) I've liked everything else you've done so far, I think you can stop fishing for compliments, woman :p

Oh my ... wow. First of all, I can't tell you how beyond thrilled I was to see some Dollhouse fic posted. I literally laughed out loud when I saw it pop up in my flist. But anyway, on to the fic itself.

Gorgeous. I mean really, just gorgeous. I've been waiting to see someone address the time a Safe Haven ever since the finale aired, and this more than lived up to my expectations. Adelle's tragedy was extremely poignant here, and the little details and insights meant that I couldn't help but feel along with her. Thank you so much for writing this. ♥

Thank you for such lovely feedback - I really wanted to make people go 'oh poor Adelle' without ever making her an object of pity. But the journey to that softer, warmer, more human woman - who is still scary and brave is just so interesting I couldn't stop myself from thinking about it - and well, I wanted to write what happened to Dominic as well.

You weren't supposed to say that. It wasn't supposed to make sense. Here we have our turning point for Dominic. Bravo!

I could only think that he would hate it if she actually had an answer that he understood and that called to him.

I like when seminal moments just happen. No fanfare. No look here--it is an epiphany. Simply a statement (well, two statements) that changes everything, allowing Dominic to be able to consider expressing his feelings more openly/directly. Liked this a whole lot.

Thank you. He had to hate that it made sense and then go off to think about it - after that he's fighting it a lot less and then somewhere along the way he decides - I don't know that he can live with who she is, what she's done - or that the past matters less than the present.

I'm sitting here crying, because you've painted a very believable and tragic picture of safe haven. It was heartbreaking to read what Adelle has gone through (or rather, still is going through) and how she still blames herself, even after all these years. You are the first, to let us observe safe haven from a more personal perspective. It was very well done.

Thank you. I am sorry I made you cry but I did want safe haven to be human and tragic and for it to get Adelle to be the person she seemed to have become by the end of the show.
