And you stop there?! This is so excellent. I'm sure this makes me sound like Alpha-level sadistic but I love schadenfreude!Adelle almost as much as I love schadenfreude!Adelle/Dom. I can't wait for more of the plot to unfold!

I'm glad you enjoyed it and it is sort of necessary to stop there - to build the dramatic tension about Adelle.

Excellent chapter. I want to see moarrrr, especially since that ending. OMG, that ending. So ambiguous.

She couldn't allow herself to get involved; the actives and their handlers were valuable and to be protected, but they came second to the mission - as everything did. She of all people could never allow herself to forget that.

Psh, Adelle. He's going to worm his way to your heart without any of you realizing it. AND EVERYBODY ELSE.

Yes. well - the ambiguous ending was entirely deliberate. Glad you're enjoying it and I quite agree that Adelle may well be fooling herself about a certain handler.
