Writer's Block: Words that you love and hate

OK, it seems as though LiveJournal has started posting writing prompts on the main page.  I can dig this.  I have nothing else to write about that isn't boring or depressing right now, so I think I'll play along.  Here's the latest:

What are your favorite and least favorite words? Any reasons why?

You have an incredibly well-developed sense of phonetic aesthetics.

"Phonetic Aesthetics" is a very good phrase, in my opinion.

I really love the word rhythm. Avuncular, however, I also really like... but it always makes me feel disturbed because for some reason I associate it with incest and child abuse. I think that makes me a very messed-up person. Yeesh.

See, that's another problem with avuncular. It's supposed to be like friendly and warm, but these days uncles are just as often associated with molestation. Come on, English language.
