You little bitch.

Violet can't stop replaying the last- has it really have only been twenty minutes? No, it has to have been more. More time, more space. All of that-

Violet Baudelaire is very, very used to things happening quickly. The world seems to slip away when things happen - when she finds herself walking through the snow with her hands ( Read more... )

The wind outside is calm for once, but she hasn't felt like leaving the treehouse most of the day all the same. So alone in the quiet she hears Violet's call outside and crosses from her room to the trapdoor opening of the treehouse, pulling it up to let her in.

"Hey! Come on in, you must be freezing," she says, curious about the visit-- it's not like it's a short walk --but concerned mostly with keeping all of the heat inside.

"Not even thinking about it," Violet says as she climbs up the ladder, most of the snow falling off her boots as she climbs. She's bright red, and it's hard to tell if it's the cold or the fact that something is clearly the matter that's doing it. "You busy?"

She's already stripping off her gloves and scarf like she's on a mission, and apparently spilling her guts to Karo is the first thing on her to-do list.

Karolina's eyebrows go up immediately as she ushers Violet in, taking her coat and winter weather things to toss them in a corner out of the way. "Nope. Not busy. Just staying warm. I hate the cold," she says, mostly to fill the silence as she moves toward her room, gesturing over her shoulder. "Come on."

In her room, she closes the door and sits on one corner of her bed, motioning for violet to sit on the other. "You okay?" she asks cautiously.

"I," Violet says without preamble, not even realising that her hair is so full of snow that drops of water are running down the back of her neck, "Am a moron." She turns, and she's just about three seconds. "And he called me a bitch and I don't even know what's wrong with me." She's pacing - something that she hasn't done since the mess with Edmund and Charlie, but she's wishing that there was some way that she can just tell Karo the short of it and have it all make sense. Finally (although only seconds had passed,) Violet stops, turns to Karo in all seriousness, and just deadpans.

"Cuthbert Allgood is straight."
