After the Fight with Gene

Oct 07, 2010 21:24

Moist takes Urquhart carefully through the Bar, stopping only to get a first aid kit,

"Lean on me as we go up the stairs."

His shirt is pretty much ruined as its covered in blood and mud, but oddly he doesn't mind.

Urquhart's ribs are hurting quite badly now that the fury is leaving him.

"Did you get some ice, too?" he asks. "They have it here even in summer, which is useful because you don't get bruises only in winter. Damn."

He looks at the blood that has been dripping on the floor, leaving a trail where he went.

"Well, he had it coming," Urquhart says. "I don't want to imagine the colour his balls are going to turn."

"Thank you for that horrible image. Now sit up for me and I'll get his shirt all the way off,"

There's a teasing note in his voice, but Moist really isn't sure how he feels about all of this.

Urquhart sits up straight and lifts his arms.

Since the shirt's been cut, its easy enough to shift it though it does stick unpleasantly and Moist tosses it into his laundry,

"I'm going to check the bath and then get you out of those pants and into it. No moving more than you have to."

"Yes, sir," Urquhart says, chuckling.

And stopping at once, because it hurts.

"You'll hurt less if you don't move a lot,"

Moist sighs and kisses him once more before checking the bath water and turning it off,

"How hard is getting you vertical again going to be?"

"Not very," Urquhart says, and stands up.

It hurts like hell, but he's used to just moving through his pain, whatever may have caused it.

"Then come on,"

The bathroom is close by and the water is from a marvelous hot spring as Moist considers the best way to get Urquhart out of his pants.

It'll sting at first, but it will be a good sting, cleaning out the pain.

"It looks wonderful," Urquhart says.

"It should be,"

The strings of Urquhart's pants are rather caked with mud so Moist carefully cuts them,

"There, that should make it easier."

Urquhart steps out of the breeches.

His side, above the ribs, is already turning purple.

There is some mud and blood even in the pelt of his body, where it soaked through his clothes.

"I'll scrub that out later, for now just soak,"

He offers himself for Urquhart to lean on as he gets in the bath.

Urquhart puts a hand on Moist's shoulder, and steps into the bath.

He hisses briefly as he sits down in it.

"Now I'll get you that whiskey,"

Keeping busy is useful since Moist feels rather at a loss. Having someone else stand up for him and be hurt is a strange experience.

In Uberwald, that never really happened and whenever he was hurt, his grandmother would do this for him, but that was family.

"Thank you," Urquhart says, lying back in the bath and closing his eyes while his hair soaks up the hot water.
