I have a small video game collection because I used to be a manager at Hollywood Video & we got game rentals for free, which is why my game library via live is HUGE. I don't even remember playing some of those games, to be honest...

I keep all the guitar hero/rock bands & I have Left 4 Dead (my first game via live) & Beautiful Katamari because I am in love with this game.
I also have Blitz II but only because I accidently kept it after I quit my managers job...LOL.

I think if I beat the game to death, all achievements, all levels, & it had no Live value, I would trade it, otherwise I'm into keeping.

re-play value is a winner with me, If I can keep going back to the game its more likely a keeper.. If I didnt really enjoy it or it didnt grasp my interst or in rare cases was too plain hard then Its a trade in..

right now Im collecting old games for my older systems Nintendo, Sega and etc..
my xbox 360 I currently own about 50 games..

normally the only games I trade in are for the DS I feel like I finished it once and theres is nothin left for me to beat again

There are some games that we MUST own - like Resident Evil, Zelda, Mario...even after we've beaten them, we keep them for our collection. Most of the games we have sold have been disappointments (Fable 2) or just not something we would never want to see again (Silent Hill 2).

We haven't sold any games in awhile. I think it was late last year, right before GameStop said they would stop taking regular xbox games, we did a big purge of stuff that was not compatible with the 360, that we hadn't played in ages, etc. We got enough money to buy a new game so woohoo there! I also upgraded my Lego Star Wars to the more recent release with both games on one disc, so I sold my separate copies (and got a lot more for them then I expected!). So I'd say it is a case by case basis. If I don't think I'm every going to play it again and I have no personal attachment to the game - why keep it?

Well, for me, if the game was fun then I keep it, cause it has good memories linked to it. Even if I will never play it again. That's the minimum for a game to be a keeper.

Of course, if the game has replay value left, that's one more reason to keep it. But if the game was not fun, I'll get rid of it as soon as I can.

I usually re-sell them on ebay or something to get a fairly decent price out of them. Usually so I can buy new ones.
