Even though things aren't magically all better, I'm glad that this ends on a hopeful note. Even though they're not ready now, maybe someday things will get better and they will be able to try again.

Yeah, I like to think that in another few years' time they'll be friendly and after a couple of decades... who knows? I didn't want a perfect happy ending for this, but I couldn't bear to leave it so hopeless. I'm glad you weren't disappointed by the lack of smooching.
