Warnings: n/a
Length: 6,650
Genre: Crossovers, Friendship, Humor
Main Character(s)/Pairing(s): Gen; John + Ace!Sherlock
Summary: After Sherlock messes up the apartment again Mrs. Hudson does something drastic.
Why you should read it: While I'm not a big fan of Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, having only seen a few episodes, I have to admit that the crossover is surprisingly perfect. The Queer eye team pushes John outside of his boundaries without being too pushy. They also find ways around Sherlock's reticence to change.

Title:The Poster Girl
Author: stardust_made
Rating: R
Warnings: The story evolves around a murder case so some of the content could be considered disturbing. Nothing explicit.
Length: ~ 65,000
Genre: Gen
Main Character(s)/Pairing(s): Sherlock Holmes and John Watson; Detective Inspector Lestrade; original characters.
Summary: A seemingly straightforward case has Lestrade calling for Sherlock's help. Written from John's POV, this story follows the investigation of the murder of Veronica Havisham: seventeen, popular--and found dead in Hainault Forrest on an early Saturday morning in June.
Why you should read it: It's rare to find a good case fic in this fandom, and this was a good mystery read. While it is Gen, there were little moments between John and Sherlock, much like you can see on the show. (You could probably call it pre-slash or simply a deep friendship, depending on what you fancy.) I also really found John's POV interesting - his take on his relationship with Sherlock, including his insecurities about assisting a genius, was laced throughout.

Title: Orange Doesn't Suit Me
Author: jazzmilla
Rating: Teen
Warnings: None
Length: 1804
Genre: Gen
Main Character(s)/Pairing(s): John Watson, Sherlock Holmes, DI Lestrade
Summary: Where John has a plan and never meets a risk he doesn't take.
Why you should read it: A bit of lovely caring by Sherlock when John takes a risk. (In his own Sherlocky way, which includes a NEVER DO THAT AGAIN. :D)

Title: Battle of Bakerloo
Author: rallalon
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Length: 1,500
Genre: Humor, Fluff
Main Character(s)/Pairing(s): John/Sherlock established relationship
Summary: The change had occurred, John had accepted it, and when Sherlock had asked, “You don’t mind, do you?”, John had answered, “No, of course not.”
Why you should read it: I'm a sucker for humor in fluff fics. And Sherlock using a somewhat embarrassed John as a hugging/thinking post? *is amused* These lines always get me: With small secessions and gradual border crossings, Sherlock had invaded the entirety of John’s personal space. He had settled, set up base and clearly had no plans whatsoever to withdraw from his appropriated territory. It was Afghanistan all over again.

Title: The Long Drive
Author: stupid_drawings
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Length: ~2,400
Genre: Humor
Main Character(s)/Pairing(s): John Watson, Sherlock Holmes, DI Lestrade (pining!Sherlock/somewhat-oblivious!John)
Summary: Sherlock, John, and Lestrade on a road trip together, stuck in the same car for hours.
Why you should read it: Just too funny and cracky! I was laughing out loud! Plus there are more road trip sequels that are linked on the post.

(Also, I'll be adding its two sequels to the list, just for completion's sake.)
