Asher was captivated. Despite the company, the ballet was one of the few things of beauty he still truly enjoyed. Yet it was hard to behave himself, to not try and take Jason's hand and cuddle him tight.
He wasn't stupid, he could feel his lover's discomfort. But there wasn't much he could do until later and pray he could soothe his ruffled feathers.
Okay, the sword fight wasn't bad, the shipwreck was kinda cool. And of course the star-crossed lovers survive and live happily ever after on a deserted beach
( ... )
Pausing in the lobby, Asher smiled and bowed and kissed hands. This was a world he'd known since before he was embraced. This was how he knew life.
Laughing, pulling to him one young, in her life, vampire that was all curls and lace. She was nearly two thousand and would never look more than fourteen. Tugging at one of her curls, he used a bit of slight of hand to produce a bauble. To any looking it might seem nothing but the pendant was older than the man himself and worth a fortune.
This was the Master of New York and Asher was doing well and earning her respect and friendship.
"M'Lady Rhiannon, you honour me and mine with this night. You had no reason to see us and I am delighted you took this time to entertain us."
She smiled and dimpled, prefering the treatment of spoiled rich girl to potential killer.
Oh, she was definately a spoiled rich girl, one who had been eyeing Asher all night. Why, Jason wasn't really sure. It wasn't sexual and it wasn't predatory, definately not something Jason felt he should be worried about.
Of course, knowing his luck, he was completely off base and going to end up on the street corner trying to earn enough for a bus ticket back to St Louis.
He smiled while watching Asher's trick and nodded in agreement. The tuxes bit, food had sucked, the ballet boring but otherwise he was having a great time.
