How does the difficultly on Bloodborne compare to the Souls series? I never was able to get into the Souls games as they were way too punishing for my tastes.
It's not what I would call...unpunishing. It's in the family, it's about on par with a Souls game. Though I've gotta tell you, when it "clicks"...you just get it, the game just changes for you. It's like growing a lump of brain matter; the game is impossible, until you...well, git gud.
Also, did you ever coop? There are Souls purists who deny it, but I think it's overlooking one of the most interesting facets of the series mechanics, especially with the messages people can leave on your game world as hints. It's how I found a LOT of secret stuff on my early playthroughs, doing things organically, sans Wiki.
I always say it's "NES difficult." It's like Mega Man II. That game is impossible...until it isn't, until you are the cerulean cyberknight who exploits your foes weaknesses instinctively. Heck, I downloaded like, every single Mega Man I could on the Wii, through like X? & I still had the chops to demolish them. Dark Souls is like that, but for the contemporary generation.
