The no alignment aspect of Skyrim was hard for me to grok. There were sooo many evil quests and many that start off neutral or good and then you are asked to murder someone or betray someone. And yeah all those demonic quests are for the purely wicked. Those are fun but I don't like having to do majorly unethical things to get some of the best gear. There are no good deities or spirits to balance it out. But thus is the Elder Scrolls realm, life is cheap and good gear can be made.

Yeah I do sort of feel like there should be a problem besides getting hassled by cops; an "alignment" system is probably over-stating it, but there should be branching pathways, like with Imperial & Stormcloak. Like if you do those, you can't do some other quests, or something. A reason to make ethical choices (or to make amoral choices, but you know, CHOICES).

Anyhow, none of the demon stuff is better than the stuff I make, so far, so.

I did an Orc Fighter/Thief build on my second playthrough- and honestly, the Thieves' Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests were more fun than probably anything else in the game. The Nightingale gear was the only thing I came across that I thought was better than my crafted stuff.

I think I might join the Brotherhood, actually; I killed that wicked lady at the orphanage. I figured, hey, that kid DID summon me...
