I do think popularity has ruined the show a little. In the relatively short span between my first and second visits the quality of the audience diminished perceptibly. It also seemed more crowded. There were a lot people talking, taking off their masks, checking phones, clustering in obstructive groups, and generally acting kind of disruptively. But that was also the show where Hecate made me drink the second Mrs. de Winter's tears! So, basically still totally worth it.

Right, still totally worth it. I wonder if they did increase their audience size per performance. It FEELS that way. & yeah, way more whispers & people using their cameras as flashlights. DOOM.

If you go again, try going on a weeknight? I dunno. When I went in June I went on a Monday and there was a decent amount of people but nothing too oppressive.

Maybe it is a weeknight/weekend thing; weekends allow for a wider circle.

My second visit was on a weekend and I thought that might have explained the difference. Good to know that's the case and it's still possible to see the show with a decent crowd.
