Entwined
The trees whispered with the wind that swayed their branches and leaves, the sweet sound filled with joy and happiness at the love only they had been witness to. Below, on the moss-covered ground around their trunks, laid a man and an elf in sated embrace, their limbs entwined as if they couldn't gather the will to be two separate beings once again.
The man's hand idly twirled through the tousled strands of shimmering white gold, untangling the knots from the elf's hair their earlier passion had placed there. The softly spoken words were too quiet for the trees to understand, but they had no need to hear them for their meaning shone brightly from the faces of both man and elf.
Bundled rays of sunlight filtered by the trees fell on the couple, covering their naked forms with a warm golden sheen. Taking his head from the man's chest where it had rested, the elf stretched and smiled as the man bent down to meet him.
Their kiss was but a fleeting whisper compared to those they had shared as desire ruled their bodies, yet it was no less filled with love for another. The man's calloused hand cradled the elf's head gently while their lips moved with intimate ease, his other hand drifting down and coming to lie on the small of the elf's back.
Once they parted, the elf rested his head on the man's shoulder, nuzzling his pale cheek against the rough beard that covered the man's face. The man turned his head and pressed a brief kiss behind the elf's ear. Settling back, the man returned the elf's vow of devotion as he enfolded the slender body in his arms.
The sighing of the trees receded as the couple drifted off into reverie.
