Yeah, its a bit depressing if you look at it that way, but on the other hand, try to imaging the words "does better with white men" being nonchalantly linked to a black candidate in years past.
Looked at that way, we've come a long way on what is arguably the most fundamental structural divide which bifurcates our nation.
Saying that is not in any way to deny the problem of sexism - just to recognize that it doesn't threaten to tear the fabric of our country apart, as race has done 50 years now (for the simple reason that 90% of people are in an inter-gender marriage ;) )
