Spaghetti tonight.
Yes.
I am going to pick up some Reggiano from the store on the way home.
How glad I am that we're Time Lords and not outdated humans like most of the people on this continent to whom properly prepared spaghetti sauce means tomato paste straight from a can and whose dinners, besides, consist mostly of beef and potatoes.
Not that I ( Read more... )

Stop being such a snob about cooking, it's not actually easy you know. And if we get another invitation, we're going, whether you like it or not.

I said I LIKED yours. Can't you take a compliment without being a little bitch?
That meal...I won't say it was as bad as the time I fell into a Friltan slime bog with my mouth open but it was fairly close. And the texture was worse.
I don't feel like arguing this. I'm having a nice evening.

Alright, fine, fine, let's not argue. And thank you, I suppose. For the compliment.

You're very welcome. Do I at least get a gratified snog out of all this niceness on my part?

I know what you mean! I am always trying to branch out my cooking from the usual meat-and-potatoes diet, but Peter complains that foreign food gives him indigestion.

By directly-next-door-neighbours, do you mean the Appletons or the Johnsons? Because if you ever get a chance to try it, Mrs. Appleton does a fantastic gazpacho.

I also think it's very sweet of you to let the Doctor know you appreciate his cooking. Believe me, a little recognition for one's efforts goes a LONG way.

That IS unfortunate. If you'd ever be amenable to letting me sample your more adventurous cooking, I'd be delighted!
Mm, not sure I should say. Perhaps it was Mrs. Johnsons' off day? I'll have to remember to try that gazpacho, though.
Oh, Alice, if only he saw it the same way you do. He's always unjustifiably suspicious of any praise I give him.

Maybe he's only suspicious because you don't do it often enough. I know I would have a small heart attack if Peter actually started thanking me for anything I did for him like he used before we were married and before he started taking everything I do for him for granted.

Oh dear, I think I switched tenses a few times there.

You could be right.
I'll clearly have to remedy that.
