"Hellmouth High" now has a podfic and other fandom things

To start: reena_jenkins  has read a marvelous podfic of  Hellmouth High Schools Don't Have Reunions, one of my Buffy/Doctor Who crossovers --- Link to podfic -- Link to podbook (with cover art!) -- I don't know much about podfic, but it held my notoriously short attention span even though I hate re-reading my own stuff after it's been published - mostly I'll ( Read more... )

. . . a lot of words. Over 6 million for sure, and I'm leaning towards the 10 million at least.

See, I knew the end total was going to be absurd. To put this in perspective, most English translations of War and Peace have around 560,000 words. By your calculation, I read between 12 and 18 Russian epics worth of mostly J2 and Wincest, approximately 30% of which was porn. I'm a horrible person.

/I regret nothing!

DID I IMPLY YOU NEED TO REGRET THINGS? I am in awe, in *awe*! That means 'go on, continue being awesome!'

I'm a little annoyed that most of the Wincest got posted in the second half of the fest when I was already behind. ::shakes fist::

{Did you read "Named" and "One Thing I Don't Believe In" in the D/C department? They're both excellent.}

As a fellow speed reader (seriously, I went through all five Percy Jackson books on Sunday), that would probably explain why I have never been able to get on with the Doctor Who audio adventures.

It's a problem - I feel like it cuts me off from a lot of excellent work. I can take movies and tv shows being at a slower pace, probably because of the visual stimuli, but when all I'm getting is words, in general it needs to be hilariously funny or of serious interest because otherwise I get bored quickly.

It probably also doesn't help that I don't process auditory information nearly as well as I do written words - I can have difficulty distinguishing between consonant sounds and sometimes need people to repeat or rephrase in order to parse what they're saying correctly (and sometimes will watch TV with captions on if I'm having a particularly thick kind of day) - and I can't ask a recording to do that.

Thanks for the go-ahead on 'Impossible Things'. I'll add it to the ever-growing list of Things I'll Record As Soon As The House Is Quiet Enough.....the list is not very specific on time frame, but I'll let you know when it's done ;-)
