"The World Cup has turned out like WW2. The French surrendered early, the USA arrive at the last minute to claim the prize and we are left to fight the fucking Germans."

Too bad. But at least the Italians dropped out almost as soon as the Americans got in the game. =)

I can imagine: given the amount of soccer-talk going on in the States, where normally soccer is a topic that comes up slightly less often than clog dancing, I can't imagine how much people in the rest of the world are obsessing over it.
