Regretting peeping at screencaps - BIG episode 13 spoiler

Jun 26, 2009 11:56

I'll be glad when tomorrow's over and the dirty has been done. I'll watch, but only for RA's final performance as Guy. I took a peek at the screencaps for episode 13 and they didn't make me feel better - just more sad at the way they've done away with Guy. His body  just gets left in the tunnel prior to the Castle blowing up, while Bobbin goes off  ( Read more... )

Oh look! I'm crying again.

The caps are so horrific. His eyes, I have no words. RA's done a beautiful job by the looks of things, but that's my woobie lying there, growing cold as the castle crumbles around him.

I've always got too caught up in these things - I remember weeping copiously at Todd's death in Neighbours as he was racing to tell Phoebe he had fallen in love with her, even if it did only begin with a dare. (I was very young.) If anything, I'm worse now than I ever was. If fandom is your safe, happy place, then a tragedy within it cannot but be deeply felt. It's a trade-off - anything that brings you so much joy must also be able to bring you so much heartache.

We'll see it through. RA may have donned the costume for the last time (having said that, were I his OH, I'd have made sure it came back with him from Budapest and got worn at regular intervals), but Guy will go on, loved, cherished, exhausted by rampant fangirls and their wild notions.

He's got a new career as a Vampire Pirate these days, after all...

I've come to the conclusion that I'm weepy because today would have been my late dad's birthday and I'm low anyway. But...it's GUY!! And they haven't done right by him!! And he deserved better!! And so did we!!
In the RT this week, it says that two characters don't make it - that's Bobbin and Guy - so does that imply that the infernal Isabella survives? I really, really want her squashed under the castle and suffering horrible pain in a very slow, crushing death for plunging that dagger into Guy's back. Deranged, demented bitch, and to think I quite liked her when she first appeared...
Although partial to vampires,I don't usually like pirates much, but I'll make an exception for Captain Gisborne - he looks great in billowy shirts and tight trousers.
I hope we'll see more of mediaeval Guy, though - I wasn't sure when I saw the Lala TV promo, but have to say that I preferred Guy's series 3 look, especially when he'd washed his hair. Stunning!!

***I can't believe how caught up I've got in the death of a fictional character - on every level of logic, it's ridiculous. Perhaps someone can explain it, because I certainly can't!***

I'm right there with you darlin's. Clearly. Weepy as hell. It's all RA's fault. If he wasn't so damned good at bringing Guy to life, giving him grey tones, and making us care, I - like you - wouldn't give a damn and wouldn't be watching this show. GREAT POST!

Heh heh heh. Oh, hell yeah! YES!

I just found this, then searched my inbox to find which of the many bewailings of Guy's demise (or so they say) it was in.

Richard on what will happen to his outfit:

What do you think you'll do with the costume when the show is over?

You know what, it's really funny you should say that because, as I just said, there is actually a new costume designer that's come on board, and so the whole show has been sort of redesigned. At this moment Keith Allen, the Sheriff of Nottingham, is trying to buy my costume. And we're in a little bit of a bidding war as to who's going to get my costume. He wants Gisborne's costume so that he can sell it. But I think I'll try and get it just for myself as a bit of nostalgia. It's weird, because you know, I spent two years putting that costume on: It's part of my process and it helps me become the character. I'd find it very strange to think that that it is in could be in else's hands. I think it would be very weird. [Laughing] My blood and sweat is fused into the leather as well!
