I've totally not been on LJ the last several days. I've been knitting and watching Homocide and skiing and having Buddy time. It's been good.

cut for length because this got a little long -- baking, skiing, and Buddy )

We adopted our second cat in January -- she's 8, and came from a definitely-ignored, almost-certainly-neglected, possibly-abused home. She has NO IDEA what to do with treats. Seriously. Sometimes she thinks they're toys, sometimes she seems to think they're invisible. She's SO not interested. Food isn't a motivator for her.

*Hugs you* :-)

Yeah, Buddy definitely likes treats. It's just he's really only familiar with rawhide bones which can be dangerous. We've given him small rawhide bones as special treats when we can closely watch him eat them. Today we got some Snausages and he liked those, but I think he can clearly smell the meat smell of those. And he likes the PB cookies I made him (I open the bag and his eyes get wide and he's right there, *g*). But these breath saver bones? He won't touch them. We're going to give them to the neighbor and be glad the bag was less than $4. I think most of his treats are going to be homemade -- I like being able to make stuff fresh without all the extra preservatives and chemicals.

He loves food though. He won't eat his kibble plain. We add some shredded cheese or a couple spoonfuls of cottage cheese to it, though, and he goes crazy. Fortunately, he can use the calories and a bit of calcium so the vet said this is not a problem.

I'll have to make a pie with the whole wheat crust when you come to visit. It was very good and very easy to make. The cooking and baking is getting better.

How was the gym? Keep it up, babe. And good luck with the smoking. Not buying will at least mean cutting back, I'm sure. And smoking less is better than nothing.

As to my holiday fics? I have one due on Sunday and well ... I've been watching DVDs. *sigh* And your comment reminds me that I have your BSG fic. I'd forgotten about it. So sorry!

I just returned the BSG. I'll look at the FNL's this afternoon. I promise.

You have to watch Lexmas. Sooooooo good. I need to write my "Never Been Kissed" SV fic for 12/3. *bangs head on desk* I just can't get there.

And thank god we got a dog, because otherwise I probably wouldn't have gone walking lately. The couch is way to inviting. But Buddy needs to walk. And we've been getting snow (which he loves), so the walks are nice and there's shoveling to do and that gives me my exercise for the day.
