You know, I still think it's successful (I don't know that much about FX paint though, so don't shoot me!). But it doesn't *read* as YOU, but as a different face instead. That really mystifies/impressed me about the make-up as it is now. I mean, if I search really hard I can see you under all of that, but at a glance it's a very good job. (Plus you smile ;D)
Comparing it to Snape in your LJ side bar, I'd say the only thing maybe missing are the frown lines from the corner of the lip down. You have the ones from nose down, but the apparent lip ones are very subtle in your makeup.
And hee, thank you! I took some pointers from my Scar makeup, which transformed me even more, but yeah, I dunno, I kind of feel like my Snape makeup attempt just makes me look old, haha.
A friend of mine suggested shading more around the chin, and highlighting the nose, and I think you're right about the frown lines. I'm thinking maybe I should exaggerate the shading even more, too. I shall have to experiment~
Yeah! Though the frown-lines may make him look even older, just to warn!
And I don't think the 'looking old' part is necessarily bad per say, he's not really that young a character (as far as I know?). He does have that older, world-weary feeling around him, and it reflects in the face a lot.
I adore the scar make-up so much. Just blown away at your theatrical stuff. I don't know why you aren't doing this for a living. THERE I SAID IT.
This is true - I shall have to experiment. Thing is, Alan Rickman is actually far too old to play Snape, haha. I think Snape was around 37 when he died, so roundabouts 30 when we first meet him. But even so, I think he's a character that would look older than he actually is, considering everything he's been through. So old-looking might not be that bad. Experimentation-ho!
And awh, thank you! A lot of my friends are far more talented than me, though!

Either way, I'm totally impressed. :D
