I now feel very strongly that I do not need to see this film. I think you covered all necessary bases with your assessment. I was feeling a bit peer pressured into it, but because of your scathing review, I will abstain.
Oh yeah -- if you're not sure you want to see it, don't! No matter how strong the peer pressure. ;) It is kind of funny in a terrible way, but the terrible far outweighs the funny. You will be saving yourself pain by avoiding the movie.
Oh, braintwin, how I heart you and your spot-on reaction. Have you read the New Yorker review, which points out, quite rightly, how ridiculous it is that they can all zip between star systems easy as anything, but Padme can't get a freaking ultrasound?
I can't even bring myself to want slash from that movie, despite all the dropped hints. I mean. I don't even want to think about the characters again! Even if they're naked. Possibly especially if they're naked. I just want to get all the actors really, really drunk so they can forget the horror of making those movies. Except maybe Natalie Portman, who, much though I want to like her, deserves some sort of punishment for being in Closer and Garden State (which were not quite this bad but pretty close).
Now I return to packing and blocking out any memory of that movie...
