I would use my SHINee icon but I feel weird having one.

Okay Johnny's, please give me that kind of polish in your dancing, because if you guys are going to dance professionally then I don't want to be ashamed of you. (I think I'm a bit of dance snob because I love it so much; I'm a terrible dancer myself but I've taken enough classes to know that there really is no excuse for bad timing, which seems to ( Read more... )

dance snob coming through, johnny's is conquering my icons, johnny's is a real life host club!, arashi, shinee, je is more addictive than cocaine

JE just needs to hire some real choreographers, then. *waits ( ... )

ANNA. I CAN ONLY TAKE SO MUCH GAY AT A TIME, GIVE ME A BREAK. :D (And yes you have; you don't remember the essay you wrote me, complete with pictures? I have all their music now, I just haven't gotten around to really listening to it.)

I'll take JE's incapability to dance in sync over the ugly ego of SM groups any day 8D

Though sometimes I wish I didn't have to feel embarrassed for NEWS when I watch their lives >_>

I don't have a problem with the groups' egos, I have a problem with their fans' egos. The groups seem fairly normal, human being-wise, but their fans give me migraines.

They don't even always get it right in their PVs, which I think is worse, but we love them anyways. :P

I don't know, but I think Korea's superior dancing skillz have a lot to do with the fact that most artists perform with vocal tracks and just lip-sync, leaving them more energy for the dancing... I think je performs live, so there fail is a tiny bit excused... maybe... don't shoot me if I'm wrong

Well, a lot of Korean artists do a mix of live performances and lip-synced ones (you can tell because the vocal quality usually goes down a lot *shot*) and even though most of JE's groups do sing live, I don't expect them to do backflips all the time and then belt out notes - learning to sync with your bandmates does not take away from your breath control. Then again, the JE groups do a lot more in terms of variety (dramas, magazine shoots, etc.) so you can argue that they don't have as much time but they do spend a hell of a lot of time as Juniors dancing - why don't they learn to dance properly? lol... but, with the exception of Bi, most Korean artists do nothing but dance and sing, so they are naturally better... and seriously, have you watched some of the juniors and what they try to pass off as "dancing" *shudders* I don't think anyone in je, with the possible exception of junior groups like ABC, actually knows how to dance, and yes I'm including their choreographers in that generalization

XD I don't watch anything Junior-related, it makes me feel old. But I will take your word for it and keep avoiding them!

I think I kind of prefer it that way (that the Korean artists just sing/dance and don't act) because most of them turn out to be crappy actors anyways. I know Johnny's tries to turn out "well-rounded" entertainers but not everyone can do everything.

i think i can count on one hand the number of decent dancers within je. kat-tun as a whole is probably the best at it, though it honestly isn't saying much. i'd let it go if any of the groups actually sang well live, but alas, we're left with things like this. i love arashi, i do, but the beginning of that song is borderline unbearable.

(what i find funny about je dancing is that it's usually the majority of the group that's basically okay, but there's always that ONE MEMBER who's a half beat off. EVERY GROUP HAS ONE. XD)

It's one of the main reasons I stayed away from Johnny's at first (y'know, other than the rampant ghei rainbows): they just didn't have the polish that I expected out of pop singers. Although they do more as a whole so I guess you can say they're "well-rounded" but it's kind of like a jack of all trades approach to me.

But it doesn't really matter anymore since my soul's been sold already and it's too late to go back now. XD
