A girl around Chibiusa's age is walking down an ordinary street back home with a newly-bought lamp. She is wearing her usual dark clothes, but there is more white in her outfit than most are usually familiar with. She is not wearing long sleeves and dark tights that others may associate with her as well. She has a bright smile on her face as she ( Read more... )

It's probably a toss-up whether Hotaru would recognize this Mizuno Ami de-transformed, as she does not at all resemble Mercury this way. Instead, she has the appearance of a normal teenage Japanese girl. It might be noted that she's discovered hair, fashion, and makeup somewhere along the line, and that her eyes are a bit darker than they should be.

Oh, yes. And she's wearing a Mugen Gakuen, Infinity Academy, uniform.

As soon as she sees Hotaru, Ami stiffens immediately. She glances around herself quickly, taking her bearings. Apparently she recognizes something is wrong.

Hotaru continued walking down the street and did not in the slightest recognized Ami as she was. She looked different and seemed to have a different air and appearance to her. For the slightest bit, she felt a tinge of deja vu but quickly dismissed it, as nothing about the girl in front of her seemed to remind her of anyone at the moment.

However, she did feel a little weird to see the Infinity Academy on a student she didn't recognize. The sudden glances she gave also made Hotaru a little confused. She hadn't had that effect on people for the longest of times. Still, she didn't seem to mean any harm, so Hotaru just gave a brief, friendly smile and continued walking.

Experienced in the Nexus, Ami knows exactly why Hotaru is somewhere she shouldn't be. This is a world in which Hotaru, well, should be there. This leaves the question of what to do about it. The senshi of Destruction cannot ruin her world from here, and there is probably no reason to fight.

It doesn't make them comrades, or even allies, and certainly not friends.

On the other hand, Hotaru potentially has a great deal of information about the Death Busters that Mercury could definitely still use. Daimon attacks, and therefore daimon victims, have been climbing in numbers.

"Tomoe Hotaru," she calls out.

At the sound of her name, she immediately stops. Any flags that weren't brought up before were definitely up now. Who was this person with the Infinity Academy uniform and, most importantly why did she know her? She knew that she make any friends at her school in her previous age before, so this caught her completely off guard. Just as soon as she stopped, she turned around to acknowledge the girl's presence. She gave a tightened clutch at the lamp she carried and kept a serious look.

"You know me." Hotaru said blankly. The statement was bait, and she waited to see what response she would catch.

It's been a while since Chibiusa's been in the 20th Century by now. So when she sees a lamp being carried, it takes her a moment to register who could be behind it.

With hope blossoming in her chest, Chibiusa skitters around to get a better look of the person, who turns out to fulfill every expectation. Chibiusa breaks into an enormous smile.

"Hotaru-chan!"

She recognized that voice in an instant. Turning her head, she saw the bright smile and soon had one on hers as well.

"Chibiusa-chan!" Hotaru cried excitedly. She had thought that Chibiusa had returned to the future for good, but nevertheless, her presence was nothing less than a more-than-welcome surprise. She immediately put down the lamp so she could focus on her friend. "You're here! When did you get back?"

Chibiusa didn't hesitate to squeeze Hotaru in a tight and excited hug. "Hotaruuu," she gushed as she attempted to break her friend's ribs. She backed away suddenly, still holding Hotaru's shoulders, all smiles and energy. "I'm not back, not really. I'm still at home, but it looks like this is your first time to the nexus." She was talking very fast without realizing. "But it's so good that I got to you first because it'd be very bad if you met with-"

She finally realized that she was speaking as fast as a racecar drives, and laughed. "Listen to me, rambling away! This is a nice lamp! For your collection?"

The hug doesn't come off as a surprise. Hotaru knew Chibiusa was always so loving like that, though the rib-breaking was. Luckily, Hotaru lived and enjoyed it all the same. She spoke fast but managed to get what Chibiusa was trying to say. She laughed.

"Yup! I've gotten a few more since you left. You should come over to see. The others will be so excited to see you!" Hotaru said with a gleeful nod. She did remember one thing that she caught from one of Chibiusa's quick words that had definitely caught her attention. "Oh, that word again. 'Nexus.' You're the second person that mentioned it. It seems that I'm supposed to be prepared to see other people from different worlds?"

Whatever it was, this... this definitely something had taken Hotaru aback. Nevermind that this rather tall thing seemed to know her, nine-foot-tall friendly things were definitely something that Hotaru didn't see every day.

Covering her mouth with her arm to hide her gaping, she somehow managed to make a response. "Y-Yes?"

Was this some sort of costume for a party of some sort? This was the first question that popped out of Hotaru's mind when she had seen the pirate clothes. More worrisome, however, was the sudden surprise that she had known her identity has a scout. At the very least, she didn't seem like an enemy.

"You know me." She said as calmly as she could in the midst of her shock. "How do you -?"

She wanted ask about how she knew her identity, but she couldn't think of the right words to come up with at the moment.

She is taken aback by the greeting and kiss, but she does seem a bit flattered. It didn't help her seem a bit weirded about by it all.

"Hotaru Tomoe," She introduced herself. It did seem like much to give, but she seemed friendly and would rather be called by her Earth name, rather than her scout name, seeing as she wasn't in uniform. "It's nice to meet you as well. It seems that there are quite a lot of people that know me from other worlds. It actually sounds exciting, really."
