Sew, a needle pulling thread...

Jan 10, 2009 14:56

Mizuno Ami is sitting cross-legged on her bed, working on a sewing project. She seems experienced as she deftly nudges the needle through the cloth. But the real surprise is that a closer look at her project reveals it to be a likeness of Tuxedo Kamen. And it's not a voodoo doll. Music is playing again, this time "Route Venus". Ami's popular ( Read more... )

Nephrite looks to Mercury - no, she's Ami rght now, he has to tell himself - and then to the doll. Since when did the water senshi play with dolls? He chuckled slightly.

Getting bored around here?

"Mind your own business," Ami tells him, but the voice is devoid of the biting tone it might normally have and is closer to teasing instead. She sticks her needle upright in the work to be able to find it easily later, and looks up at her visitor.

"Hello, Nephrite! Looking for me?"

"Mercury." He'd nod. "Not necessarily. But I'm wondering... why the doll, and of him, no less?"

"I said mind your own business." The one's a bit sterner now, possibly because she's frustrated anyway. This isn't the sort of thing she'd typically do...

She thinks as she glances at Nephrite's cape.

"Anyway, I just wanted to do it. Besides, it helps me concentrate to do something like this while I think."

Artemis has a hard enough trouble sleeping as is. Too many things weighing on his mind, Luna not giving him enough attention, Minako not giving him enough attention, constantly checking the news to make sure Makoto hasn't gone on another bloody rampage...

The stress builds up on a cat, you know?

And now Minako's wailing along to some bad pop song? This won't do. He stumbles into Ami's chambers, blinking blurrily around, then coughs to catch her attention. "Minako! I'm trying to sleep! Can you turn that racket..."

...Wait. That wasn't Minako. That was... Someone he didn't know. After a quick look down to make sure that Ami hadn't finally carried through on her threats to have him clipped, he licks his hair down, then moves to sit near Dark Ami's knee with an imperious "Mow."

What? Mercury frowns as she glances down at the white cat with the far-too-distinctive crescent marking on his front. She smirks.

"This is interesting," she says. "Did you find your way here alone, Artemis?" She's very interested, in fact, and even turns the music down to be able to hear his answer.

After all, Artemis without Venus would be a rare sight for her; not precisely unheard-of, but strange enough to merit the question. And it's definitely smarter to feel out the situation before kicking him like she was tempted to at first. Consider it reflexes.

The fact she doesn't seem to at all be surprised by a talking cat is probably telling.

...Was this one of his fans from the nexus? This place is pretty obviously not home. Quick, switch to cute mode!

He smiles suddenly, or as best as a ~space cat~ can, and nods. "What, you think I can't wander around by myself?" He reaches up to place two paws on her chair. "I'm a cat, I'll have you know."

She's amused, very amused. Which is probably all that's keeping him from rougher treatment. She's in a calm mood, but this is the mentor and adviser of the one sailor senshi who still stands in the way of the Dark Kingdom.

"Not at all!" she assures him lightly. "You're capable enough. I just wanted to know whether to get tea ready for other company."

[well, here comes another sewer...Makoto Kino! Only, she's sewing up a costume that is, for once, not a sailor senshi costume. The girls decided to go for one day at their next com as other people, so she's going as - of all people - Arwen of Lord of the Rings.

She turns a corner, her costume on, and...is suddenly not in her aunt's house anymore]

Eh? What just happened?

"Hello, Kino-san! Come to visit?" The voice is cheerful with a side of snide. She can't be sure whether it's the Makoto she knows, but that doesn't make a large difference to Ami. She looks the taller girl over (that height will help her as Arwen). Just the same. Ami looks a touch (or rather, very) different with a fashion sense, hair colored to a rich shade of brown, and make-up on, but it's probably still quite possible to tell it's her.

Yo, Ami!

[smiles, then blinks. Wait. Ami with brown hair? And wearing that? Something told her she was, in fact, back in that strange place she had briefly come to, along with her friends and even some of her teachers. Her head tilts sideways, and she smiles again]

Ah, I see. A different Ami, right?

[note that she is speaking perfect English. By now it may be apparent which Makoto she is speaking to]

"Are you expecting a welcome here, Kino-san?" Ami asks bluntly. She's not exactly known for warmth these days. "Just be glad I don't plan to fight you right now."

Ami's words, too, come in English. She glances back to her project and makes a few more stitches along one of the sides.

[ The random nature of this place is rather annoying. Black Lady has now found herself in someone's bedroom, and not just anyone, but one of the senshi. No way to know which one this is.

Wearing a plain black blouse and slacks, she shoves her hands into her pockets and leans against the door frame. ]

Is this homework?

Ami stands up, a slightly bemused expression on her face.

"Good afternoon, Black Lady!" She glances down at the paper in her hand, and nods after a moment. "Mm. This is what I'm studying right now."

[ The greeting was rather telling. She can't help but grin a little, folding her arms across her chest. ]

Good afternoon. I don't think I've seen you like this.

"Well, I'm not planning to fight right now. This is the appearance I was born with in the human world in this life."

Ami sits back down; there are plenty of spots for Black Lady on the bed by Ami, on the floor, or in a chair.

"Were you looking for me, or is this the fault of the different dimensions?"

[And he's arching an eyebrow at her, leaning against her doorway with his arms over his chest. Although it is not a form his master currently possesses, he has heard of this incarnation. So why is this Mercury working on such a doll?]

"Hello, Kunzite!" Ami greets him cheerfully enough - probably identifying herself for him if he needed it with her current different form. She sticks the needle upright and slightly at an angle to be able to find it easily again later.

"Should I be honored by your visit?"

kingoftruth January 12 2009, 04:26:01 UTC
[Smirks, watching her calmly, unmoving even as she sets the needle to rest.]

Of course. But, pray tell, Mercury? Have you found a liking of the master?

[He's teasing of course, but heaven help if she says yes... That's a headache he does NOT need.]

Ami smirks. "How likely does that seem, Kunzite?" She doesn't offer an explanation, however. It's none of his business, and it's awkward. Of course, now that he's said something like that, she's remembering Venus' questions about what sort of person she likes. Her mind really needs to be brought under better control.

She snaps herself out of it with a slight toss of her head. "But I'll tell you something interesting, if you want."
