Crack!The sharp sound of something impacting breaks the oppressive silence, and there's a small, collective gasp that follows. The figures are one some members of the nexus might recognize. Woah, wait. No. No. This was not where she wanted to be. Not when she was finally about to meet the leader of the rebellion in her world!

"Esmeraude-!?"

"My only crime," Black Lady replies, "Is letting you live. But, it can't be helped! Perhaps Wiseman and Demand-sama would be better suited to decide a punishment for you, if that's your desire."

Esmeraude's not going to retreat. Not after that. She prepares another attack, stronger.

"Vicious Emerald!"

The preparation for the attack allows Black Lady to prepare her own wordless attack. She throws her attack as Esmeraude's goes towards her...

The attacks fight for a moment, and Esmeraude barely manages to throw the attack aside. It still drives her back down to one knee.

"Who are you?!" she demands almost fretfully.

[notsoblack_lady]

"Didn't I already tell you?" She gives a moment for the words to sink in. "I have been reborn by the power of Nemesis."

It's not true...

She doesn't believe it...she doesn't believe it! Lies!

Esmeraude throws another blast, and follows with a physical attack, in hopes of catching the girl off guard. She's good at sneak attacks, maybe it'll help.

Esmeraude may not be able to get far enough to pull off the physical attack. Another blast goes right for her as Esmeraude fires her off.

She's going too fast to stop herself even as she sees it coming. It strikes, and she goes down again--hard.

Demando-sama...Demando-sama, where was he? No--he couldn't see her like this.

It takes her a little longer to get up this time. "I don't believe it."

Black Lady brings up another ball of energy. She's not going to kill her, just knock her out. She felt sadness, and anger at herself. The price of playing the part.

Esmeraude doesn't know that. She panics a little, and throws a desperate attack at the woman. This isn't the end!

[notsoblack_lady]

It's easily dodged, and Black Lady's attack launches towards the other.

I'm sorry.

With a sharp cry, Esmeraude collapses to the ground. She pushes herself up, just a little, then finally falls back and lies still.

[notsoblack_lady]

She knows, it would have been suicide to tell her the full truth. About what happens to her, to Demand, to everyone. She never liked Esmeraude, but she can't help but feel sad for her, nevertheless.

She goes to see if she can pick the woman up, perhaps bring her somewhere to recover. Before she has taken a step, however, she disappears like a wisp of wind from that world.

"Esmeraude?!" An alarmed young man's voice rings out from a short distance away. "You--!" But Black Lady would be gone as soon as she disappears.

A young man in blue and white rushes forward, and kneels by Esmeraude.

It looks like she'll be taken care of.
