The flames should be a sickening sight. The stench of burnt flesh should be a sickening smell. The mood of the crowd is ugly, and for a moment it reminds her of her world and the temper of the city there.

Ami comes clad just like any other member of Kunzite's retinue, thanks to quick action with her teletia-S. She approaches him respectfully, fan hiding much of her face, and she bends down towards him as if she's one of those carrying messages from one of the other noble households.

"Mercury is here." He'll recognize her voice, of course, she assumes; and they can enjoy this sight together. She certainly plans to.

It's not until after the proceedings that Ami happens upon Zoisite again. She watches him a moment before deciding to approach. She needs... an opinion, a perspective, advice; and she knows Zoisite is considered wise.

"Four times," she says, somewhat cryptically. "That makes four times I've seen Beryl's death." Her own, two others she was involved in, and this.

Of course it bothers her! But she only nods, instead of yelling that.

"Because, even if I killed her a thousand times more, she'd return."

He's right, of course. What does she want or expect? It's just how the nexus is.

"So, we go on defeating them forever?"

"No." And she makes no apology for that choice. "I'd prefer to kill her myself." Beryl is perhaps the only person aside from the princess and the inner senshi that Mercury absolutely can't forgive.

"If my enemy appears before me, they'll die."

Forever. Of course it's the obvious conclusion. It's the choice she's made: She will go on fighting and she will never back down. But Ami shoots Zoisite a challenging look.

"Are you saying you won't do the same?"

"Then," Ami asks, "How do you reconcile yourself to infinity?"

So it's like this. She's used to Zoisite's circular answers, the few times she's spoken with any alternate of him. But it doesn't help her find answers herself.

"I was asking it to you."

As everyone often does with Zoisite's answers, Ami needs awhile to puzzle it out. He reconciles himself to infinity because the threat in front of him to what he wants to protect is more important. It shuts out the broader concerns without ignoring them.

She can understand that, a little. Ami nods thoughtfully, glancing at nothing in particular as she sorts her mind.

"I also plan to fight the enemy in front of me," she affirms. "The threat to the planet in my world."

"We're not entirely different." What he'll do with that, is up to him.
