for Sere, with lovemizuno_himeApril 8 2010, 06:24:08 UTC
It doesn't take long for word to flood the castle about what happened. The second it reaches Mercury, she runs to the princess' chambers, heedless of anyone telling her to let Serenity rest yet.
"Princess!" She bursts through the door in a startling neglect of her usual decorum. "Are you alright?"
She doesn't want to be alone, or to rest, anyway. When she's alone in that room, it's all she can do to keep from just staring at the spot where the strange woman had fallen, where her life had been taken in order to spare Serenity's, and it hurts so much more to see it again and again in her mind's eye. Maybe that's why she's sitting at her desk when her friend bursts in, with her back to her bed, struggling so hard to look away, to stare out the window at earth, to read her lesson... Anything but live it over and over again.
"Mercury..." The name is whispered, and she turns to look at the senshi, her back still to the bed.
"Princess..." There aren't really words that can work to comfort her. So Mercury simply puts her arms around the motionless princess to hold her tight. It might be to reassure herself as much as Serenity.
There's only that silence, as she feels Mercury pull her into a hug, the same silence that's haunted her since she was left alone here... And then, slowly, Serenity's arms creep up, to grasp the other girl, to hold her tightly, tighter than she's ever hugged her before, and she trembles even in that grasp, struggling not to cry, to keep back the tears. And she whispers...
For Demand, damnit. He needs love too!enviousemeraldApril 8 2010, 11:59:45 UTC
Something shifts, suddenly, and Esmeraude's head snaps up.
Hadn't she been in a different hallway? Her eyes narrow in suspicion. The first place she makes her way to is the throne room.
She enters, like she's always done, without permission. She sees him then, Demand, and stops suddenly, torn between running to him and asking for permission. What happened? What was wrong?
"Demando-sama," she speaks finally, and dares closer, worry for the prince winning out over worry of being the target for his temper. "Demando-sama?"
Demando looks up only after Esmeraude's spoken twice. He doesn't know what eyes to show her. He's too experienced with the nexus to take her for a ghost, but she may as well be. And she doubtless carries in her the same thoughts, doesn't she?
What thoughts had those been? What had Esmeraude been thinking?
"Esmeraude." He speaks none of his thoughts aloud as he leans his arm on the arm of the throne.
Esmeraude's brows draw together. Something's wrong and she doesn't know what it is. It's bothering her, and her brows draw together in worry. She grasps that fan of hers in both hands, drawing in close and giving him a look of apprehension.
She wants to ask what's wrong, but first, after a pause of standing several steps away, she simply bows before him, then straightens again, hoping (foolishly), maybe he'll offer up what's on his mind. He won't, he wouldn't. Demand has always been the brooding type, and even moreso lately.
"Do you have a report?" Demando asks, using the words to halt Esmeraude's advance. It's the only way he can face her, coldly like this, not even looking at her to see that face that will haunt him.
He doesn't know whether to regret what happened, or whether to blast this reminder of betrayal and loss into oblivion right here.
"Don't you touch her!" Demando comes out of his guilt and thoughts enough to glare at his alternate. He moves to block his double from Esmeraude before he can get there. "Move back!"
"Princess, leave!" he calls over his shoulder. "This man means you no good."
In the state she's in now, she's slow to respond, and easy to confuse, so... seeing two of him here... She doesn't know what to do, and those wide eyes travel from one to the other. Why- why would he say that- about himself?
"Demando?" Which one she's addressing isn't exactly certain.
For Demando~! ♥ (Note to self, do not use hearts while on Rubeus' account.)alsoyousuckApril 8 2010, 21:25:35 UTC
Weirder and weirder. It seems like things have really taken a turn for the weird lately. Rubeus keeps ending up in places he never meant to go, not to mention that highly stupid nightmare involving a Rabbit much taller and older than him.
And now it's happening again. Why would he be here when he had been busy talking to the sisters in a whole different place just a few moments ago? Weird.
He just stares at the prince he now notices wordlessly, frowning at his own inability to understand all of this.
but they're such cute hearts...kingofblackmoonApril 8 2010, 21:30:08 UTC
The 'nightmare' made Rubeus adorable. Not that Demando will say this, because this would mean admitting being a little Demando-tot himself. He doesn't look up for at least a minute or two; the time drags in the awkward silence and seems so much longer to him.
"Rubeus," he acknowledges finally. "You are welcome here."
♥♥ And of course Rubeus is very cute too! ♥♥ *shot*alsoyousuckApril 8 2010, 21:36:40 UTC
Rubeus just nods as a response, although it's nearly deep enough to make it a not-quite-there-yet bow.
But even he is sensitive enough to sense that this kind of silence isn't normal, even when it's Demando we're talking about. (Then again, everyone knows that he loves to hear himself talk, right?) Was something going on? If it was about those sailor senshi again, Rubeus might just have to go out there himself to kick some senshi ass.
The hearts make this thread so pretty. Which is so wrong. XDkingofblackmoonApril 8 2010, 21:41:48 UTC
"There have been difficulties." He leaves it at that. "I must rethink our strategy." If that means rethinking everything. But no; he's not giving up. He will find a way to do- What, now? Something.
For...um, Esmeraude, but really for princess and DemandimtotallynormalApril 10 2010, 01:53:23 UTC
That body. That dead body...
That blood. Newly dead, the blood would still be very fresh. It brings a flush to this Usagi's cheeks. She had to resist, somehow, until she could return to her world and ensure nothing more untold would happen. No - she had to resist long enough to get the body for herself, to still be sane while doing it so she could feed properly.
She stands, and stares, the selves fighting out for dominance as to which would prevail. The hunger or the heart...
Demando freezes as soon as he notices the new arrival. Something is wrong. That look in Usagi's eyes... Those are not the eyes of the princess or of Usagi! But what is it? He watches her carefully.
"This will not be a safe place," he warns her through the dull, heavy feeling that makes him want to do nothing but sit here, stay here, not move again. "Castle guards will come. Two of you..."
(ooc: if it comes down to it, is it alright if demando poofs the body away after awhile, before anything super bad happens? poor guy's trauma'd already losing his last ally. T_T XD)
Usagi gulps, and licks her lips as if parched. And she cannot stop staring at the cooling corpse. Her pupils widen ever so slightly at the hidden thought of what lies underneath that she will very quickly try to ignore. Without success.
"You should...dispose...of the body," she replies, as if she's not sure what she wants to say or what she wants to say. "Soon."

"Rubeus. Report on the state of your own plans."
