He really doesn't know how he ended up here. This is not the nexus' fault. Somehow Nephrite (not Nefukichi-kun!) is working at Crown Karaoke on the half-charity of some crazy human boy who doesn't seem to mind if Nephrite shouts or threatens him or breaks the dishes (again). There's a startled noise from a book. That seems to be hovering. It jumps back when it nearly runs into Nefukichi Nephrite as he passes by.

A head peers over the book. "Eh?" One surprised Mizuno Ami stares. How did she end up here?! She reads often when she walks, so it's entirely unlike her to not pay attention enough to end up somewhere she didn't expect...and especially not in a different district! Isn't this--Crown?!

But...this person is... "Excuse me for intruding!" she blurts immediately (even though this is a place of business), bowing in apology for almost running into the new part-timer she doesn't recognize quite yet.

"I went," Ami answers politely with a little nod. "I...don't really do karaoke much anymore. Really, I came by mistake."

Figures. He doesn't know why it figures, but it figures. Oh, right. Because fate has it out for him and of course would send a sailor senshi to him by mistake.

"What's good about karaoke?" he asks.

"Well," Ami begins, then she pauses. "If you have someone to sing with, it can be fun. I suppose people sing because they feel attachment to a certain emotion in the songs they like. Karaoke...isn't really fun alone."

It doesn't really make sense to him. Attachments because of a song? Sounds more like Zoisite.

"Mmn," Ami shakes her head. "I don't come here anymore," she says again. "I have other things to do, that art important." More important than the girls who turned her away.

Oh--but the her of this world might still come here. She remembers that and wonders if she's just made a mistake. This person might not know of the nexus. "If it's all right," she says, "Will you tell me your name? You remind me of someone."

"It's Nephrite," he says, and it occurs to him that he should never have this feeling of wanting to hide it, of wanting these people to absolutely not know who he is. But he's not really so good at subterfuge anyway.

That was just like Nephrite. He didn't need her. She was a sailor senshi, right? But the senshi didn't need her either, because she was an agent of the Dark Kingdom.

"If Nephrite wants to talk," she says suddenly, "I'll listen. Because I'm not like those girls anymore." She offers a friendly smile that seems a little forced.

Which is why Nephrite turns around and punches Ami while telling her exactly what he thinks about sailor senshi and shitennou and princes and princesses and Beryl and Metalia and the ginzuishou.

No, wait. What Nephrite does is to just keep mopping. "Can't you already tell just by looking at me?" he grumbles out.

Oh, like she doesn't know. She has eyes, doesn't she? He glares but remembers the Turtle probably wouldn't like a seriously injured guest. He shuts her out and goes back to mopping instead, back to Ami.
