Double-Duty Visit! earthvictorious February 28 2010, 04:45:39 UTC
As soon as it's reported that Jadeite is awake, Kunzite heads towards that room. There will be nothing else occupying him today, and that in itself should speak of his feelings- for whatever that's worth, he'd probably say.

He pauses in the doorway to take in the room at a glance. The glance shows him Mercury sleeping, and Jadeite indeed beginning to rouse.

"You're awake," he says. The clipped tone says little of the relief rushing through him, but it's there nonetheless.

This time it's Zoisite who enters first, moving past Kunzite and towards where Jadeite lays. He pauses just beside the still-prone man, and in his gratitude for this healing, a small smile finds its way to his lips.

It doesn't take much for even his often-distant eyes to see that Jadeite is still not moving, still not sitting up or standing or joining them, or even asking questions yet. The smile falters.

"You are still groggy?" He puts a gloved hand down beside Jadeite's head, where a few of the blond curls are soon gathered into its palm.

Those voices are familiar to him and the pain hits him all over again.

It's only a dream. It was only a dream. It's over now. None of it really happened. Right? Never mind that it felt so real, that he swore he could still smell the earth as it burned.

Jadeite could feel something against his head, and his eyes flickered, lashes laden with tears, up to Zoisite. He doesn't want to speak yet, he doesn't trust his voice. What is there to say? His hand lifts, ever so slightly, then lays against the table again. It's too heavy to lift, too much effort.

Kunzite steps forward and into the room finally, and comes to stand across from Zoisite, on the other side of the Jadeite. Tears? For once he won't mock or begrudge them.

"You were asleep," he says simply instead. "Thanks to a spell from the enemy." He wants Jadeite to feel the pain and rage that statement will bring, because he knows what an effective fighter that will make him in the battles to come.

Rei's meditating before the fire of her shrine when the flames flare up unexpectedly, making her eyes snap open. It's not an ill omen, but it takes her off-guard. Something's definitely happening, but what?

She has her answer when she finds herself suddenly in the palace of the world she thought she'd left behind. Jadeite's the only one lying there now. She lowers her head a bit and narrows her eyes.

"What happened just now?" she asks.

That voice. Jadeite takes a moment to respond, maybe he didn't even hear her.

"Rei," he acknowledges after a moment, and he slowly looks to her. There are tear streaks down either side of his face, but he doesn't move to wipe them away. "I don't know," he tells her. What did she mean, anyway?

"I felt something, just before the nexus brought me," Rei says, inwardly cursing herself for her question that makes her have to say it now. She shakes her head. "Maybe it was just the nexus."

She tactfully ignores Jadeite's tears. He's no friend of hers to be concerned over, but she won't take advantage of a situation that seems too serious, either.

She won't know what's going on any more than he does, he assumes. Especially not if she just arrived. The nexus brought her, after all.

"Maybe it was," he answers quietly, and glances away.

Jadeite is awake enough to feel that touch and he jerks inadvertently.

"You are?" he asks, not even really demands, as he looks at her. He doesn't trust her, but he doesn't have the energy for confrontation.

"Dead Moon?" he echoes, and he forces himself to be a little more alert. He sits up, a little too fast, and wobbles before steadying. He'll be fine. For now, there's some woman he doesn't know too close to him.

There's a woman in the chambers, looking as if she has been there for quite some time, for all the calmness she exudes, and not as if she has just appeared there by some twist of the nexus. She shows no surprise, perhaps used to such things, but merely takes in her surroundings. It is only when she catches sight of the blond shitennou yet waking, and the farther off still sleeping senshi, that her eyes narrow. There is something wrong with this picture. So she takes a step towards the young man, to look over him as he wakes, concern written across her face.

Jadeite doesn't take notice of that person at first, only lies silently as the tears continue. He closes his eyes then, letting a final few escape, then finally glances to the side to take in his surroundings.

There's a little confusion, but it's mostly lost behind not really apathy, but a lack of response just the same. He catches sight of the woman, and his brows furrow, just a little, and for just a moment. Who...?

Knowing who the boy before her is takes no special skill; he looks quite similar to his counterpart in her own world, and seeing Mercury was clue enough for her to look closely. So when she notices the tears upon his cheeks, it takes some restraint to keep herself from reaching to gently wipe them away, as she would with another Jadeite, the one of her world who still seems so very, very young. Instead, she decides that perhaps she should let him know that she's not an enemy. After all, he seems to be in a poor state of health, and perhaps mind.

"It's alright Jadeite. It's Kunzite."

He can see it, looking like this. He shouldn't be surprised, he's met male senshi. And he's met a female Nephrite. The nexus, he realizes. So, he lays silently for now, and just watches her.
