An Unwanted Holiday Surprise

Dec 24, 2009 01:06

Endymion shivered as he adjusted his jacket, not really accustomed to all the bitter cold he's had to endure recently. It had been a rather difficult couple of weeks, all things considered.

His memories still refused to return to him, and he was stuck in a strange world he neither recalled nor understood. In spite of it all, he was aware enough to ( Read more... )

An innocent rabbit is hopping through the nexus, towards a delicious-looking Mamo-chan bit of mistletoe with Mamo-chan as a bonus.

"Mamo-chan!!" Usagi's face lights up immediately and she hurries over towards him, not even realizing at first that he's an alternate. (She'd been out Christmas shopping and one street is much like another, isn't it?)

As soon as she actually spots the mistletoe, Usagi adopts a rather affected sweet expression. "Oh, Mamo-chan, you don't have to go through all this trouble just to kiss me!"

Endymion's leg-tugging is interrupted by Usagi's happy scream. Of course, the amnesiac fellow had no idea who this girl was or why she was calling him by that name. He could only stare in a bit of shock at how bubbly this girl was.

When she gets close to him, he finally manages to mouth a response. "...Mamo-chan? Just who are you?" He arched an eyebrow at the little nickname. It sounded strange to his stern sensibilites.

The mistletoe above Endymion gripped Usagi with it's power as soon as she drew close enough. It would be interesting to see when the little rabbit would realize she's been snagged.

Realize what? Because this girl's making a beeline for 'Mamo-chan' and his lips without the mistletoe's benefit. By the time she's close enough for it to take affect, she probably still doesn't even notice. She closes her eyes and reaches up on her tiptoes to get closer.

Endymion looked at Usagi with a rather strange expression. It was almost a bit goofy due to the confusion he was going through. The prince wasn't exactly used to intimate contact with anyone, so he was a little off-put by the younger girl's advances.

This girl mentioned 'kissing, and it was strange that a person would just waltz up and kiss someone she didn't know. Unless...

"You...you know who I am?" He asked her unevenly. He stared at Usagi's closed eyes and pucked lips. "How?"

...This is most definitely not where Usagi had been a moment ago.

It looks like a nice little street though, no monsters in sight! (Little does she know...) There's a certain person that catches her attention though. "Ah! King Endymion!" She stays a few paces back, as if not sure what exactly to do. She wants to approach him, but...should she?

"You're him, aren't you? I know it's you. I knew at that time I saw you, after..." she trails off and shakes her head. There's a smile that looks more like an attempt at bravery than it should. "I-I'm glad you're okay!"

Endymion's squirms are cut short when he hears someone call out his name. He frowns and gives a confused glance in the direction it came from. A few people had addressed him by that title since his arrival here, but he had struggled to put together the pieces. So far, he hadn't been able to recall anything about that name.

"You know me?" He stammered. It was obvious she did, but it was still a shock nontheless, especially after being in a social vacuum for the last couple of weeks. "Just who are you, anyway?" In spite of it all, Endymion gives her a hopeful glance...he could tolerate this humiliation if it gave him some clues.

...Why isn't he moving, anyway?

She stares. "I-I know you," she answers, taking a step forward, then another. "Don't you remember me?" Maybe something had happened to his memories again? Oh no! But, maybe that meant he didn't hate her!

"Usagi," she introduced herself again. "Tsukino Usagi!" A hopeful smile. He can remember her, right?

As the girl drew closer, Endymion only shook his head at her assertions. "I don't know you..." He tells her. "...I had an accident a while ago, and my past is nothing but a blank. I..."

Suddenly, he grips his head. Pain started coming and he swore under his breath. He always ran the risk of these pains when he tried to piece together his past. Why was this happening now? Was he getting closer?

"Endymion-sama?" Kunzite thought he recognized this area, but he definitely recognizes the man beneath the lamp post. He's dressed a little less conspicuously than normal today, in a silver-grey suit.

He comes a bit closer. Something's weird about this scene, and he's sure he can sense something...but maybe not after all.

Endymion glances up. It's that man who found him in the street when he first arrived. The prince had gotten a strange feeling from the sliver-haired man, as if he held a great power of some kind. He found it hard to trust, nowadays...but he couldn't afford to be picky in this situation.

"It's you..." He gives a spartan greeting before getting right to business. "....I suppose I should tell you that I was attacked." He pauses to let that sink in before going on, "Some strange plant monster cast a spell on me that's preventing me from moving!"

Yes, it's him. Kunzite gives the other a curious look at the greeting (if it could be called that), but his expression turns to one of alarm. His right hand lifts to his hip, but his sword isn't at his side right now. That doesn't stop him from looking around as if to take down the assailant with his bare hands.

"You're not hurt?" Kunzite comes closer, brow furrowed now in concern. He doesn't see the mistletoe, there's no point in paying attention to it if it's not mentioned.

"No, I'm not..." He admits absently. "...but I don't like feeling vulnerable like this."

He tries to move again, but has no success. "If you're concerned for me, you should try to find help...someone who may know a counter spell or something, unless you do." He might, it's not like he knew the extent of Kunzite's power, after all. "I'm not keen on being here if that thing comes back."

There's a young and somewhat fresh-faced (if sometimes easily forgettable) girl in the nexus. As soon as she spots Endymion, her eyes widen.

"Endymion-sama!" Something seems wrong. Why is he out of the palace in some random place? And not moving..?!

Endymion's heart jumped when he heard someone call out to him...he lurched almost as if he had been attacked. He was in for a surprise when he saw the source...a young girl he had never seen before. And yet she too knew his name. Ever since his arrival, he's been running into quite a few people who've known him for some reason...and yet he was no closer to rediscovering himself.

"Who...who are you?" He starts off with the basic question. It's all he can do faced with a new face he's never encountered before.

She is oh so very used that. Beryl bows her head and places a hand over her heart, keeping her eyes on the floor for now.

"Endymion-sama, I know I am nothing but a maid at your palace, but if I can serve you here..." It's obvious that something isn't going right, that he's in some sort of trouble even if it doesn't seem to be immediate danger.

A maid? Palaces? None of this was ringing any bells. Just another mystery he was going to have to unravel somehow. For right now, though, there was the not so small matter of the spell that was put on him.

"Well..." He said carefully, wondering if this woman was the excitable sort, "...some creature has put a spell on me, and it's preventing me from moving my legs. Maybe you can get me some help?"
