The young man sweeps the temple ground quietly, appearing deep in thought. His white top with red hakama pretty much pegs him as a priest of the temple. He appears to be sweeping up the remains of some kind of glass bauble. The look he gives it shows nothing but contempt for the thing ( Read more... )

The Hikawa Shrine? She doesn't recognize him. She definitely senses something from him, though, but it must just be power. Spiritual strength. Could this be her own former world, then, and someone new to take her place?

The young man may notice a girl dressed in the same style as him, staring a bit rudely with a perplexed expression.

He finally does look up. And he almost seems to be wearing the same puzzled expression. "Huh? Are you from one of the other shrine's ojou-san? Grandmother didn't say anyone would be coming today..."

"I'm not mistaken," Rei says. "This is the Hikawa Shrine, right?"

She pauses almost too little to even be noticeable before forcing a smile to her face and putting up her hands in front of her to excuse herself, "Ah.. no. No, I was just in the area and wanted to come."

"Yes it is." He nods and bows, to her. How strange. Why is her Aura so familiar?

"Welcome again, ojou-san. I'm Rei Hino. My grandmother is the head priestess, but she's in the middle of meditations." And by meditating, he means sleeping.

Ami, with her habit of keeping her head down, doesn't see Rei either. She's surprised to find herself at the shrine, and stops outright for a moment as though making her decision about whether to walk up the path. Then she sees the mess and the boy cleaning it up. She bends down to pick up a few of the larger pieces.

"Excuse me, is there somewhere it's alright to put these?" she asks quietly.

He smiles at her, finally looking at her. "Just hand them to me ojou-san. Thank you for your help."

He's not shy, he makes direct eye contact, and holds out his hand.

"Mm." She gives a slightly hesitant nod and hands over the shards.

"If it's alright to ask, what happened?" she can't help at least bringing it up. It looks kind of bad from the pieces all over.

"Someone who came to train here ran away after tarnishing our reputation." Rei states, carefully bending down to sweep the rest up in his hand. "My grandmother didn't take it well and had me throw out her things."

He chuckles. "No, that's not true. I threw them, she just wanted them gone."

Now these are steps of a place she remembers... and it feels almost like the one from back home. If it is, then there may be hope for getting out of the nexus yet.

She didn't mean to intrude, but when she saw he was sweeping up broken glass, she frowned. "Need any help?"

He looks up and blinks at the voice. "Masako-san?" He bows to her. "It's alright. I'm almost finished, I think."

There may be a bit of a smile. "What brings you here?"

"Wrong turn, most likely." She shrugs her shoulders. She takes a few steps forward, removing her hands from the pockets of her jacket.

"Drop something, or was it an intentional break?" She bent down to pick up a larger piece of glass that had gotten away from the growing pile.

There is a rather long look at the glass. "Someone who was training here gave us a bad reputation. Grandmother wanted me to throw out her things, so I threw it out."

Very gloriously too, from the look in his eyes.

It'shim!

There's a flash of curly blonde hair and someone disappears right quickly into the shadows.

Oh, what is she doing? She was just surprised by the nexus, that's all. Making sure she is definitely not being watched, Hanako (aka Sailor Jadeite) steps back into view. "Good evening," she announces finally, a little louder than necessary. "Hino-san."

He doesn't recognize her, not immediately anyway. Her aura is hard to place, though it is familiar. He looks up at her, puzzled. "Ah! Good evening, ojou-san!...Have we met before?"

Hanako stops. The nexus? Figures. "I've met a Hino Rei, anyway," she answers. She bows politely. "I'm sorry. I must have been mistaken."

He smiles ever so slightly. "It's okay, ojou-san. I guess you are from this Nexus place Lunar and Usagi have told me about?"

Makoto blinked. Now where had the nexus sent her? She was in some version of her bedroom, and now she was at Rei's temple?

Looking up, she looked to see a male priest sweeping instead of Rei herself. Had they gotten an extra hand?

She skipped up the stairs. "Ah, excuse me?" she called out to him.

He looks up and bows slightly. "Welcome! Are you lost miss?" He gives a smile very similar to his counterparts. "I am Rei Hino. My grandmother is the head priestess here."

Makoto stopped short. "Rei-ch - ahh, kun?!" Now she knew she was definitely in a different time and place considering all of her friends were female save for Motoki-kun...not to mention Rei lived with her grandfather, not mother. Her grandmother had been dead for quite some time. "Uhm, no, actually I came to visit someone to ask them something" she said.
