Ami was lounging on her stomach on her bed and kicking her feet lightly against the air while pleasantly immersed in a pile of medical textbooks when her teletia-s sounded. She touched a button, called up the message, stared at it in a mixture of incredulous disbelief and wry amusement, and sent back a single word:

If only Haruka hadn't said 'date'.

Haruka laughs outright when she sees the answering text message. Oh, Ami.

I'm hurt.

You might want to reconsider; I was going to take you to this quaint little sandwich shop that just opened.

You don't have to call it a date. But, there's something I want to tell you.
