The bell rang at the end of the day, the signaling for most to be the start of club activities. Others, it meant going home for the day. For Hino Rei... it meant the SOS Brigade. It wasn't just a whim; it was a job. It was her duty to keep an eye on Tsukino Usagi, to make sure nothing went wrong

And the thing that Rei was greeted back with was a Usagi, who quickly got up from the chair she had been sitting on and had made her way over to the door. "Rei-chan!" she wailed, stretching the word. "Finally, there you are!"

Usagi turned around and motioned towards the empty room behind her. Even the chair by the window where Ami usually sat was unoccupied. "Look, nobody came! Everybody left me here on my own! Ami-chan, Mako-chan, Minako-chan, even Mamoru didn't come!" She turned back to Rei, her tone now more like a wail again. "Were all of you doing something fun without me, huh?!"

Rei sighed. "Usagi, calm down," she instructed, "I assure you, I just got here. I haven't seen the others." Although, for even Ami to not be here... It was strange. "Maybe they got held up by their teachers. Doesn't Mamoru sit in front of you?"

"He hasn't been at school at all today," she mumbled, just loud enough for Rei to hear. Her gaze ventured towards a seemingly interesting spot on the ground. After a moment, she jumped up though. The figural light bulb could almost be seen above her head as her eyes lit up. "Rei-chan, Rei-chan, what if he was abducted by aliens?!"

Rei was finally getting past the point of supreme annoyance when it came to Usagi's theories. "I doubt it," replies Rei, "Maybe he got sick. Something's going around; a few kids in my class were sick, too."

Aino Minako, age 22, is here! Minako finds herself quite amused when she realizes she's in school. Usagi's school, no less, but she somewhat mischievously suspects she won't find the other girl studying.

She'd be right, of course, as it's after hours. But who she does find is Rei. Rei, at Jyuban? She peers curiously inside the room, but shrugs it off as a quirk of the ever-frustrating nexus.

"Rei!" she calls out with a broad smile. "How are you?"

Catching her just before she entered the room, Rei blinked. She knew Minako was a time traveler, but... what was her future self doing here? "I'm fine," she replied, "Has something happened?" She figured something was going to happen involving Usagi in the close future.

Well, it's time travel, too, in a way, considering this is probably at least a decade before Minako's time, if not close to two decades, Minako living in roughly 2010. But no.

"It's because of the nexus," she says. "I'm sorry if coming here surprised here."
