[There's Kunzite's sharp order and the smooth stroke of her own sword, connecting with...something, she's not even sure exactly what for a moment. There's a shattering sound as the moon stick breaks, and Sailormoon's body crumples before her.

[Concerned twin is concerned, approaching.]

Twin...?

[waterfell]

[She never thought it'd be quite like this. Mercury doesn't even turn her head to look at whoever approaches - probably the reason Kunzite had left her in his chambers in the first place]

[boundtowater]

[Oh hale no. Getting close now and crouching down next to, resting a hand on her twin's shoulder.]

Speak to me! What has happened?

[waterfell]

[That gets a reaction as Mercury's arm moves swiftly to knock the offending hand away.]

[waterfell]

[She doesn't respond, probably the first time he's seen her seem to ignore him; the voice doesn't quite reach.]

[waterfell]

[Someone's angry, there's a raised voice nearby. That hardly matters, does it?]

[Unable to return to his own world, he's been roaming this one. When he sees Mercury on the floor in such a way, he stops. The sight is disturbing on a deeper level than he would have imagined. Stands behind her for a long moment. When there is no reaction to his presence, a sure sign from this Mercury that something is wrong, he crouches beside her, looking straight into her eyes.]

Mercury.

[waterfell]

[The eyes seem to be focused on nothing, and barely shift at all when he's in front of them, suggesting his presence still hasn't quite wholly registered]

[He can't imagine what could have happened to put her in such a state. Is this the doing of his counterpart? Normally this Mercury, brash and foolish as she is, is much more vivacious. After a moment of thought, he leans forward a bit more, not quite touching, but hoping that her gaze will register that he's there.]

Mercury, can you hear me?

[waterfell]

[His voice sounds distant, echoing. It's there, but... he's gone, isn't he? He left a moment ago... She's still staring mostly blankly, her mind not quite cut out for curiosity at the moment.]

[serene_rabbit]

[She's blissfully wandering this other place when she sees a flash of blue from down a long hall. Curious, she heads toward it, stopping when she sees Mercury there. Her one time friend isn't moving, her face blank, and Uagi bites her lip. Worried, she hurries over, settling on her knees in fromt of her. Grabs her hands.]

Ami-chan? Are you okay?

[waterfell]

[That does get a reaction, being grabbed, touched. Mercury yanks the hands away but still hasn't quite looked at who it is in front of her.]

[serene_rabbit]

[And now she's even more worried. Reaches forward, almost as if to grab her shoulders, but stops just shy, her hands kind of hovering there.]

Ami-chan? Please, talk to me. Are you okay, can you hear me? Ami-chan!

[waterfell]

[The sudden anger disappears again once the hand is away. There's a very irritating voice somewhere. It doesn't matter, does it? Now? There's too much going on in her head to make sense of any of it, resulting in the mental blank continuing. She may or may not have heard, to outward appearances.]

[Kunzite stands slightly apart from the girl whose shape has coalesced before his eyes. She's slumped, dejected; the slope of her shoulders is one of defeat, a sight that part of him reacts to in disgust, while another seethes silently. He says nothing, simply staring at her for several long, motionless minutes.

He recognizes, this. He can't be absolutely certain, but considering what they discussed last time they met, Kunzite is relatively sure that the chain link of events has begun in her world, as well.]

Mercury. [a singular word, said only as he can.]

[waterfell]

[she doesn't even seem to hear him right away. somewhere in her, she does, the voice a distant echo even now, but it's so far away it doesn't garner any reaction]

[ronin_king]

[irritation mounts upon irritation. being ignored does not put Kunzite in a favorable mood - not that he's in one a majority of the time, regardless. patience lacking, he steps forward, bending down to pick up the mishapen girl drowning in whatever cycle of self-pity and shell-shock she can endure.]

[sharply:] Mercury.

[waterfell]

[It takes another moment even then, the girl limp as she lets herself blank completely to avoid the reality if she comes back, and then the eyes finally register comprehension -- quickly followed by shock as she identifies the person holding her]

Kunzite...! It- She- No, it-

[she's possibly not even sure what she's trying to say herself. She takes a long breath to steady herself before she's able to admit]
