2. ILLNESS.
3. AN INCREDIBLY ATTRACTIVE CELEBRITY WINKING AT THEM AS IF SOMETHING WAS STUCK IN THEIR EYE. ACTUALLY THERE PROBABLY WAS.

There was no mysterious, foul smelling liquid to be found! Nor were there any Incredibly Attractive Celebrities within the remote vicinity (that he knew of)! So that means....*
