1 - Introduction

Jun 30, 2008 14:01

My name is Crow.

I'm aware that is something of a curt introduction, but it is the best I can currently offer. I have just... Woken up as it were. All I recall is a dream, a situation I am told is shared by all new arrivals to this strange place. I arrived--or woke, or was born, whatever the proper term may be--with a man named Flight. Due to the ( Read more... )

An abridged version of my advice, hmmm? Well, I would say:

1) Watch your step. Things have a habit of changing around here.

2) It is far better to wear nothing than the clothes we are given to begin with.

3) People inevitably seem to desire employment when they arrive here. But it is surprisingly what being pretty, charming, and completely useless can accomplish.

4) Assume nothing.

I'm Argent, by the way.

Fascinating advice Argent-san. I'll be sure to keep it in mind.

Perhaps, however, given Flight's current obsession I will disregard number two.

I hear you are good with hands? How is that?

In this instance, I wouldn't blame you for disregarding it, to be honest.

Ah, you've been talking to Fullmetal, I see. I'm not good with hands so much as with interpretation. Hands are simply an easy thing to describe and picture through the written word.

Why?

Hmm. I am glad I'm not alone in thinking that is the best course.

I see. So you are good at analyzing things? It's an rare observer that can interpret things well, let alone accurately.

Why? Mere curiosity.

Hey, welcome! I'm Want.

I'm pretty new here too, so I don't have much I can tell you. Just, like, pay attention to your surroundings. It's crazy easy to get lost here.

Want-san. An interesting name.

I will attempt to keep my attention on my surroundings, though that may be more difficult then you think.

However I will be wary of getting lost, thank you for the advice.

Yeah, don't I know it! I think I was having a... brain problem the day I chose it or something.

More difficult than I think? Wh Well, I'm totally hopeless at it, so I think it's pretty difficult to begin with.

I find no fault in your name, I just find it... Interesting.

Then perhaps I am wrong and it will not be harder then you imagine. The map they gave me should be of some assistance. And I can always trace my path in this journal should I become confused.

Welcome, Crow. I'm Kazahana. This is a very strange place; I hope you're able to find your way.

Thank you Kazahana-san. I'm sure I will manage well enough. I appreciate your greetings.

Hey there, Crow -- that's an interesting name. Me, they call me Throne don't ask. Before I even write anything more, I apologize beforehand for any random colloquialisms. Apparently we come from all different places and my point of references seem -- in some cases -- rather unique. So, yeah, if I say anything that sounds like moonspeak, just ask, and I'll try my best to explain.

Well, if you're looking for experiences, a lot of us have them coming out the wazoo. There's the dream, of course. And it's up to you whether or not you think it's memory or nonsense, though I think it's mostly memory, myself.

Ah. Thank you Throne-san. I have two for you already... Moonspeak? Wazoo? I believe I can fit them into context, but clarification is never to be turned down.

I am of two minds about the dream. Certain details seem far too vivid to be mere imagination, and yet the sequence of events I experienced was certainly less then coherent.

Crow makes Throne write WarandPeace sized comments. >.< child_proteus July 1 2008, 13:19:03 UTC
Throne-san, huh? That sounds kind of neat. Survey says you must not be British, but the way you say that -- sounds kind of familiar? I just can't place it. Hm.

Ah, see? Can't even go a nice plain introduction without spouting off something that's going to get somebody confused. Let's see here..."moonspeak" kind of means "odd, crazy talk"? Kind of like gibberish, that's all over the place? I think some people think I just make up random stuff, but I swear somewhere out there -- there are other dudes who talk just like me. Honest. As for "wazoo"...pretty much just means "ass".

Ah ha. Lots of people here are kind of vague when talking about their dream. Don't blame them, really, since it's only thing we start out with that's ours, sotospeak. But from those that I have heard about -- it seems that maybe parts of it can be less than literal, like the way proper dreams are. Mine though was totally immediate. The way proper memory is.

You know Throne wants to write a book for Crow moonlit_mirage July 1 2008, 17:33:03 UTC
San is... It is an honorific. It is polite. There is more to it than that but that is a decent explanation I believe.

British? Dudes?

I more or less guessed, but I didn't wish to make wrong assumptions. Moonspeak sounds like an interesting term, but wazoo I think I shall eave alone, if it's all the same.

I did not mean to be vague. It's simply that my dream was not a pleasant one. Some of the elements of it give me pause--If it is indeed heavily based on memory, then my past is not a pleasant one. Death features highly in it, which is why I hope that perhaps it is largely metaphorical, rather then literal.
